Why Biden must withdraw economist.com/leaders/2024/0… Mr Biden deserves to be remembered for his accomplishments and his decency rather than his decline.

Opinion: I was a broadcast journalist. Now, TV is the last place I go for news /via @globeandmail theglobeandmail.com/opinion/… We need to "put our energy into a product people want and need. Journalism still matters and democracy requires it. Civil society works on facts."

History of both vaccination and immunity induce stronger, more durable hybrid immunity than either exposure alone in children Older adults have the lowest infection rates but highest risk of severe outcomes. They warrant prioritized vaccination. cmaj.ca/content/194/47/E1599

Didn't occur often, but I recall saying once, "The Chief of Staff has authority to discharge this patient, but my duty is to the patient, not to the hospital." The patient was allowed to stay. I was a locum at that time (1980s!), or might have eventually felt repercussions!

Timing of vaccine is more important than the brand
The COVID diagnosis ends up on death certificates whereas pathogens like influenza, RSV, nonovirus, C diff, etc, are less likely to be specified.
Terrific thread. Perhaps most Covid deaths in 2022 are more like influenza deaths than they are like Covid deaths in 2020 - i.e., hard to identify in individual patients because they occur alongside other active illnesses, but easier to identify at the population level.
