Today in 1915, the Allies land at Gallipoli. Their objective is to seize Constantinople and knock Turkey out of the war. Heavy resistance prevents the invaders from advancing inland. Up to 60,000 British, ANZAC, Indian & French soldiers die in the nine-month campaign that follows

Today on #AnzacDay we remember not only the Australian & New Zealand Army Corps (ANZAC) soldiers who died on 25 April 1915 and throughout the Gallipoli campaign, but every one who has served and died in all wars, conflicts, and peacekeeping operations. ❤️
