➡️ The Carvana + Indeed for global talent.
That’s what we’re building at @BridgewayStaff
Years ago, when I owned my blue-collar company, I lived on Indeed.
I used it almost daily.
And I hated the interface.
But it was the best option we had.
I interviewed 350+ people from Indeed over the years.
And the entire time, I kept thinking:
There has to be a better way to do this.
I wanted more information before wasting time on an interview.
More transparency.
More control over the process.
Clearer pricing.
The ability to browse talent when I wanted to—not when a recruiter was available.
I had a list of ideas for how I wished hiring worked.
Then I got into global staffing.
And I discovered something else:
Latin American global talent is incredible.
Incredible skills.
Strong professionals.
And for U.S. businesses, the ability to work in the same or closely aligned time zones as your team.
But the process of actually finding and hiring that talent?
Still too much friction.
Agency hours.
Agency processes.
Limited visibility.
Submit a form. Wait for someone to call. Wait for candidates. Schedule another call.
It reminded me of buying a car before Carvana.
Their hours. Their rules. Their process.
Carvana helped flip that experience around.
Browse anytime.
See what’s available.
Transparent pricing.
Move at your own pace.
Quick. Easy. Simple.
So we asked:
Why can’t global hiring work more like that?
Next Wednesday, we launch the Bridgeway TalentBase.
And here’s how easy we want this to be:
➡️ Create your account for free
➡️ Browse vetted Latin American global talent 24/7/365
➡️ See more information upfront before you ever talk to anyone
➡️ Find someone you like
➡️ Start a role for $100
➡️ That $100 is fully credited toward your next hire
➡️ Don’t hire within 60 days? We refund it. No questions asked.
That’s it.
And one thing I want to make very clear:
The Talent Base is a platform anyone can use.
Direct hire is still the main way we like to do business.
You do not need a membership to use the Talent Base.
With a membership or without one, you can create an account, browse talent, and hire directly through Bridgeway.
The membership is simply for companies that hire more often and want better economics, longer guarantees, and added benefits.
And for companies that want a little more help, we also offer a Talent Managed option.
If you don’t want to do all the searching yourself, we can step in and help guide the process, source around your needs, and give you a more hands-on recruiting experience.
Self-serve when you want it.
More support when you need it.
That’s the point.
For businesses hiring consistently, we’re also launching PATH and opening our first 25 Pioneer Memberships.
Pioneer 25 members get:
➡️ $99/month for year one — normally $159
➡️ $1,999 per hire — normally $2,500
➡️ 1-year replacement guarantee — normally 6 months
➡️ Access every 2 months to our Reserve — candidates you can hire for a $0 placement fee
This has been years in the making without me even realizing it.
From interviewing 350+ people on Indeed…
To owning a staffing company…
To discovering just how much incredible talent exists across Latin America…
To finally getting the opportunity to build the hiring experience I always wished existed.
Incredible skills. Aligned time zones. Less friction.
Elite Latin American talent. Ready when you are.

When I left Goldman Sachs in 2010, the first book I read was “Rework.”
I never understood why the frame was you either 1) raise venture money and change the world or 2) you build a cute (pejorative) “lifestyle” business.
There’s a 3rd: ambitious companies that scale on their own profits.
That’s what Ampush (my first biz) was. Profitable every year and an awesome exit. I’ve since co founded several others with a similar profile.
There’s not nearly enough advice, community and support for these types of founders.
I feel so strongly that I’ve launched the first residency and fellowship for seedstrapped founders. Take $1-2M from us, we’ll help you get profitable and never raise again. Build on your terms.
In an AI Era, I think this becomes the default path and we want to lead the charge.

Every year my friend @BrentBeshore hosts a remarkable gathering called @MainStSummit which gathers business leaders and investors from all over the country. I’ve had the privilege of speaking the last few years.
Two years ago, I gave one of my first public talks on “Good Money” which would become my Harvard Business Review book on the subject.
Last fall, my talk centered on “Good Capital”—what are the characteristics of capital partners (like venture, private equity, and real estate investors) who are dedicated to helping companies thrive; and what practices can companies and investors together introduce to encourage human flourishing in the organizations they lead.
Main Street just posted the talk for the first time. It’s 15 minutes long. I’d love your thoughts on what makes for good partnership between companies and capital partners and how both can encouraging flourishing in the lives of individual human beings.

OK AI gurus out there I need some help.
How do I accomplish the below, either no code or full code?
I have a body of articles, blog posts, podcasts, and video presentations.
I want to feed this information into a knowledge base and allow someone to search it, ask it questions etc...
The output is:
An answer, a summary of the information and then list the actual pieces of content it used so someone can go and read, listen or watch that specific piece of content.
Last requirement is I don't want this information fed into some larger model, I want the information walled off.
How do I accomplish this today?

I finally got a chance to listen to @IAmClintMurphy's podcast interviewing @nireyal, the author of Hooked and Indistractable.
It was so good, (I even stopped to take notes). Nir shared this core idea that stuck with me:
➡️ The opposite of distraction is not focus.
➡️ The opposite of distraction is traction.
Embedded within distraction and traction is action.
When you're distracted, actions pull you away from what was intended.
(Ex. Distractions can originate with internal actions like boredom or fear or external actions like incoming Slack messages and phone calls)
But traction is action that moves us towards what we really want, what we truly intended.
(Traction reminds me of being in flow.)
I found this helpful diagram on Nir Eyal's webpage: https://www.nirandfar. com/opposite-of-distraction/
He called out virtuous distractions that masquerade as action.
For example, "doing email" can feel like important work you *should* do, but email is not always critical and might be a distraction from your most important work.
Basically - it all comes down to intent.
If you are intending to check your Slack messages to help solve an issue, that's traction.
If you're checking your Slack messages when you meant to be writing that pitch deck, that's distraction.
He encourages listeners to notice the intention behind the action.
Then learn to strengthen your indistractability by reprogramming your brain.
Ex. When you're itching for that *distraction* action, check the time and give yourself 10 minutes.
If 10 minutes goes by and you still want to take that distraction action - have at it.
But you might find the urge passes and you've let go of it.
Over time he recommends pushing the time up to 12 minutes, then 15 minutes, etc.
I'm super curious and want to give this a try, today.
Would love to know if you've tried this and whether it's been helpful for you to increase your focus.
Now to read the book...or will that be a distraction?

Now with all these AI and no-code tools existing it should be painfully obvious to everyone that the building part was never the bottleneck.
It was always a welcome distraction from facing the reality that creating something want and are willing to pay for is incredibly hard.

I'm 34, I work from home, & I run 4 B2B businesses.
It all started at 19 when I decided to be an "entrepreneur".
15 years later, zero full time jobs, & I'm still on a journey.
Here's some highlights:
Age 15-20:
- Got my first job landscaping at 15.
- Saw my cousin being an entrepreneur.
- Started my own lawn mowing business.
- Became obsessed w/ working for myself.

- A euphoric, but confusing moment.

Others it's the end of the world sh*t.
Entrepreneurship isn't easy.
It'll challenge you in ways you can't imagine.
But that's the beauty, isn't it?
You become a better version of yourself.
Isn't that what we're all striving for?
I know it is for me.
What you think?

The most common question I get: HOW are you starting and running so many businesses simultaneously?!
The short answer is: I’m not. I’ve partnered with a bunch of incredible people to bring these organizations to life.
The next question is: “Fine, but how does it all actually work? How do you interact and lead these people?”
“Well…uhhh…where do I start?”
I finally have a good answer and its in this email.
Tomorrow, I’m doing something very different. My friend and editor Andrew Warner @AndrewWarner wrote my weekly email. He interviewed all my partners with the goal of bringing my leadership to life.
