Wouldn't be surprised if there's not already a significantly large group of people out there who don't see anything irregular here. For the rest: WTF is going on?
What in the absolute fuck is going on?

Once you understand that the world is full of highly neurotic people who need a doom's day scenario to validate their emotions, it all makes much more sense: Malthusian starvation, pandemic, climate, and now AI. I wish we still had "the devil" to play this part.

🚨🚨🚨 Adding 850 nm near-infrared light to indoor LED lighting significantly reduces blood glucose levels by improving mitochondrial function. A new preprint by Glen Jeffery and colleagues found, using oral glucose tolerance tests AND continuous glucose monitors, "subjects exposed to standard LEDs had significantly increased blood sugars, while those exposed to lamps with added 850nm had significantly reduced blood sugars. These real-world data highlight the importance of light in controlling metabolism." I think this is probably the best amateur photo of Uranus ever taken. Tom’s work is top notch.
Uranus, its rings, and its moons this morning, captured under excellent conditions with the 24in scope. By far my best capture of the epsilon ring to date. 1hr of data with IR720nm longpass filter.

Congrats @wsj_com on driving the change.
Wall Street Journal They are getting it! I think we've turned a corner here... "A 2022 Washington Post profile of Anthony Fauci observed that he “declines to put on sunscreen, citing his Mediterranean complexion.” As Mr. Jacobsen stresses, excessive sun exposure is unhealthy, but moderate amounts can be salutary. So why hasn’t this received more public attention? Probably for the same reasons that the so-called experts stuck to rigid Covid guidelines even when they proved misguided. Scientists are leery of contradicting prior guidance, lest this fuel distrust in their nostrums. They may also not trust the public to act prudently when confronted with nuances. But society and scientists could both use more sunshine." wsj.com/opinion/sunshine-rea…

Our study has led us to believe and propose that infrared photons are important in mitochondrial electron transport and these photons pass through a fortunate "window" in the earth's atmosphere and come from a sun that is also fortunate to have a photosphere that causes 25% more of these photons. The resulting energy of these photons (0.75eV) also fortunately happens to be the reorganization energy of most electron transfer reactions throughout life on earth. You read that right. Spot on. Astonishing how many are still shrugging it off like this wasn’t a big deal. – at Vienna, Austria
I feel like it’s finally safe to say this out loud: The COVID era was a time of staggering overreach and repeated, official betrayal. They took our freedom, our livelihoods, and our trust, and no one has answered for it. We were forced into isolation, fueling a massive psychological crisis. Beaches, parks, and trails where transmission was virtually impossible were closed, ignoring the crucial role of sunlight and Vitamin D for immune function. The government and employers forced vaccine mandates, making millions choose between a medical treatment lacking long-term safety data and their ability to feed their families. Meanwhile, pharmaceutical companies were granted total immunity from liability. If you had a severe vaccine reaction, you were on your own. When people tried to share these stories of big tech silenced them and deleted their accounts. The architects of these policies, like Dr. Fauci, shifted goalposts constantly. He received a preemptive presidential pardon from Joe Biden, and when recently questioned by Congress, pleaded the Fifth Amendment 111 times. The biggest failure? We knew early on that metabolic dysfunction was a massive risk factor for severe COVID. Yet public health officials stayed completely silent on the importance of quality food, exercise, and true metabolic resilience. Instagram deleted my account in 2021 for pointing all of these things out. YouTube deleted multiple videos on these topics. We all lost something during those years. Whether it was someone you loved, your job, your sovereignty, or your health... I am truly sorry for your loss. If all of this makes you angry, you’re my kind of people. Let's make sure this never happens again.

If you had trusted the settled science of the day, here is how it would have gone. 1890s: you dose the baby with Bayer's new cough syrup, the non-addictive alternative to morphine, marketed for children. It was heroin. They named it after the German for heroic. 1900s: you rub calomel teething powder on your infant's gums. It is a mercury compound, and it leaves a generation with pink disease. Swollen, peeling hands and feet, screaming for months, and some of them died. 1910s: you cook in Crisco, launched by a soap and candle company, because cottonseed oil is modern and lard is what your mother used. The process that made it solid produced trans fat, banned outright a century later. 1920s: you drink Radithor, certified radioactive water, on prescription. Eben Byers took fourteen hundred bottles for his vitality. His jaw was removed in pieces and he was buried in a lead coffin. 1930s: a chemist dissolves a new sulfa drug in diethylene glycol, which is antifreeze. It kills 107 people, mostly children, and only then does America give the FDA power to demand safety testing. 1940s: your doctor lights a Camel in the surgery. More doctors smoke them than any other brand, and the advert runs in the Journal of the American Medical Association, which sold him the page. 1950s: DDT is sprayed over your kitchen, your garden and your children at school. The man who found its insecticidal properties has already been given a Nobel Prize. 1960s: your wife takes thalidomide for morning sickness because it is remarkably safe. More than ten thousand children are born with missing and shortened limbs. 1970s: the country puts down the butter and picks up the margarine, on the instruction of the American Heart Association. The fat everybody switched to was banned in 2015 as unsafe at any level. 1980s: the fat comes out of everything and sugar goes back in to make it edible. Obesity begins a climb it has never come off. 1990s: your father is prescribed OxyContin, because fewer than one per cent get addicted. The company later pleads guilty to criminal misbranding, and the overdose count runs into hundreds of thousands. 2000s: you take Vioxx for your knee. It is pulled in 2004, and the FDA's own safety officer estimates tens of thousands of excess heart attacks. Not one of those was fringe. Every one had a professional body, a literature and a man in a white coat standing behind it. Nobody who followed that advice was stupid. They were obedient, to the most qualified people available. Settled is a word about money. It means the questions stopped being funded, so they stopped being asked. So which of today's instructions will your grandchildren read out in disbelief. The oil washed in hexane and built into every cell you own. The statin that blocks the pathway making your hormones, to prevent one heart attack per hundred people. The injection where a third of the loss is muscle. The infant formula built out of vegetable oil. All settled. None of it funded to be otherwise.

People are now starting to understand that LED bulbs have been designed to be as energy efficient as possible. And so they eliminated the infrared portion, which is invisible, and this makes sense from a purely economic viewpoint if the purpose of the bulb is simply to allow you to see. However, people live in these environments for more than 90% of their lives, and what has happened is almost complete elimination of the beneficial but invisible longer wavelengths. However, what many people still do not understand is that at least in the United States, and in 2028, the regulations that govern light bulbs are going to become even more egregious unless something is done. This means that you will not be able to purchase bulbs which add back in the infrared component. Here is a video that we have published that lays it out. youtu.be/0m1Qekrfs7w?si=SrEj…
