Recently, I received a deeply disturbing message from a Trump supporter: "I hope you're murdered in front of your entire family on Christmas morning." Despite facing daily hate and threats, this message stopped me in my tracks.
In this video, I share my thoughts on the toll such hateful rhetoric takes on us all and why we need a "timeout" in America. Political disagreements are inevitable, but wishing harm on others crosses a line that threatens our democracy. I call for respect, tolerance, and civil discourse. Let's fight on the issues, not with personal hate.
I've started a movement called #theSocialContract to foster understanding and responsible citizenship. With the November elections approaching, I urge everyone to accept the results and keep the fight on the battlefield of ideas, not in each other's homes.

I'm a registered Democrat in Texas. After seeing several other posts, I checked my registration. I'm "suspended." It says I can still vote if I update my information (it's already correct) but this has never happened in my 20 years of voting in Texas. Check your registration.
