Please see my recent Substack essay on the Oregon homelessness industry. It’s not that social services fail the homeless. It’s that 10-12 per cent of the Oregon economy - NGOS, notably hospitals - require homelessness to continue.
Portland’s Royal Sonesta: bought for $108.3M in 2016. Now reportedly sold for $6.83M for 220 rooms—just $31,000 per key. A staggering 93.7% price collapse.
This is what happens when government fails at public safety, downtown disorder spirals, Measure 110’s consequences go unaddressed, and Multnomah County’s mental-health system fails people in crisis.
Tourism doesn’t thrive where visitors feel unsafe and downtown businesses struggle to survive.
Portland didn’t get here by accident. Policy choices have consequences—and taxpayers, workers, businesses, and property owners are paying the price.

He’s right. Please heed our warning …
Abigail is a disaster.
Worst governor ever.
And morons believed she was a moderate.
She’s not.
None of them are.
One week from today, Americans head to the polls, and many will choose a governor. Before they do, look at Virginia: ICE cooperation gutted, tax hikes on gym memberships and dog walking, and a failed redistricting power grab.
Virginia is becoming the California of the Mid-Atlantic.
Don’t let your state be next.

California admits to a federal judge that non-citizens can vote in their elections & they do nothing to stop them. That is a violation of the constitution.
Stunning admission by California during yesterday’s Ninth Circuit hearing.
California admitted they do nothing to check the citizenship status of voters and will count the illegal ballots of noncitizens who vote. This is why we’re seeking an emergency order. We cannot allow California to dilute legal votes in the upcoming election.
Judge: You agree that if a non-citizen votes and we don’t stop it now, that vote will be counted, correct?
California: That’s absolutely correct.
Checked the USPS site this evening to get an update on a Priority Mail I sent last week. Said it was in transit but still expected to arrive by the delivery date. Something tells me it won't make it. The deliver by date on the receipt was yesterday.

We’re learning more about the 16-year-old who opened fire at a school in Bend, Oregon earlier this month, killing three children and a teacher before an armed Good Samaritan intervened and stopped the attack.
Now, as more of the shooter’s history comes to light, one of the newest details is absolutely staggering:
Between March 2020 and October 2026, 911 dispatch received 52 calls for service associated with his family’s home.
52 calls in just over six years.
According to Deschutes County 911 dispatch records obtained by local news, those calls included a runaway juvenile, suicidal subject, domestic dispute, welfare checks, among others. The records don’t establish that the shooter himself was involved in every one of those calls.
But 52 calls associated with one household is an extraordinary amount of contact with the system.
Local news also found that his mother had 37 documented encounters with Bend Police dating back to 2013.
And that adds to what we already knew about the years leading up to the shooting.
As a child, the shooter had been placed in a specialized program for students with significant behavioral and social challenges. Investigators are also looking into his possible connections to violent online extremist groups.
Then, just two months before the shooting, his mother bought a shotgun and gave it to him for his 16th birthday. That was the gun he ultimately used in the attack.
At some point, we have to ask where the accountability lands.
Because after something horrific like this happens, the conversation almost immediately turns to another gun law. Another restriction. Another tool the government supposedly needs to prevent the next one.
But what about the tools and systems already in place?
How do you get to 52 calls to one home in six years and still end up here? No gun law fixes that. Especially in Oregon, where they have so many gun laws that even the armed Good Samaritan who stopped the shooter had to break the law to end the attack.
This is a systemic failure and an accountability problem.
We see these failures again and again, but rarely any accountability for how they happened or what needs to change to prevent the next one.
Before we start talking about what new laws millions of gun owners need to follow, I want to know where the existing system failed.

Did I miss the statement from the Pope?
At least 47 Orthodox Christians were killed in a late-night attack in Shirka Woreda, in Ethiopia’s Oromia Region, Borkena news reports. Armed groups surrounded farming families in their homes around 10:00 PM, blocked the exits, opened fire and set the houses on fire. Local sources told Borkena the attackers included local armed groups and others from the neighboring Bale Zone. Residents asked police to step in, but the outlet reports that officers did not act, saying they had no official orders. Families are now burying their dead among the ashes of their homes. Let us pray for an end to the persecution of Christians in Ethiopia.

Maya, a survivor of the tragic Tumbler Ridge shooting, received a personalized Colorado Avalanche jersey from MacKinnon, complete with a handwritten message of encouragement.
“To Maya, You’re very inspiring Maya! Keep going on your journey!”
Her family has already framed the jersey and can’t wait to hang it in her room when she’s finally out of the hospital. ❤️
Some things are bigger than hockey. What an incredible gesture from Nathan MacKinnon, and we’re all rooting for Maya to make a full recovery. 🙏❤️
Absolute class act. 👏🏒

We are moving from “illegals never vote” to “illegals vote and it isn’t a big deal” to lies about verification in California and elsewhere about whether an individual is eligible to vote as a citizen

To be clear: Overall grocery prices are up 1.8% from a year ago...a cumulative rate of 7.4% over 4 years. The cumulative increase in food prices under Pres Biden was 23.3%. As for energy, NY’s cost per kilowatt hour is twice that of the national avg.
Thanks Gov Hochul.

In a single week, Missouri produced 78,421 voter verification requests. Out of those, 23,253 matches were flagged as dead.
This must be stopped BEFORE the election. Once a stolen election is certified by the cheaters, it is too late.

Billings, Mont. (Oct. 26) — Teachers held a protest outside Billings Senior High School after the Yellowstone County Attorney’s Office declined to bring felony charges against a suspected trans 18-year-old male student who attacked a teacher with a knife.
The investigation lasted nine months and has led to no accountability, making locals wonder if there is a coverup because a suspected trans person was the assailant. The student has not been officially named.

Why are Muslim socialists like Mamdani and Sayed so strongly pro-LGBT when Islam is firmly opposed to homosexuality?
Are they faking their support?
