In 6529, the “gatekeepers” are the community of holders who minted or bought cards, along with winning artists who received them for free.
Decentralization isn’t about giving everyone a vote. It’s about fair rules that apply equally to everyone, with no central authority enjoying special privileges. Equal opportunity, not equal outcome. This is exactly how I would describe Bitcoin as well.
6529 isn’t a communist society built to support artists. It’s a network state designed to grow itself while funding public goods, including art, software, science, research, etc.
The tech stack includes its own censorship-resistant coordination app, a novel decentralized decision network, and a growing set of smart contracts, including new ones designed to increase artist revenue.
The goal is to be the third most decentralized chain at the launch of the network by independent validator count (coming soon!!). This is a beautiful ambition which should be supported not torn down.
IMHO, 6529 has delivered more value to more artists than any other platform. Yes, the network takes 50% to fund its own growth, but it has no VCs or special insiders to fund it. The Memes is the only funding mechanism for the network state and mints are open to anyone with an internet connection.
Also, once the chain is live next year, the broad community of aligned TDH holders who have participated in the open minting process or artists who have won submissions will control that treasury together.
I look forward to valid criticisms of the network state from people looking to improve the project. To criticize you must first understand. I see a lot of the criticism. Very little understanding.
I’m sure we will see many good ideas from community members, artists and builders as the project grows.
Also, gmarfa

What is 6529.io, and why should anyone care?
Most online systems were never designed for trust at scale. Identity is fragile, reputation is easy to fake, and meaningful work that benefits everyone struggles to get funded long-term.
6529, invented by @punk6529, is an attempt to fix that.
It’s building an AI-optimized economy where reputation matters more than money, and where your online identity is something you earn over time through consistent participation and long-term skin in the game, not KYC, paperwork, or eyeball scans.
The network permanently funds public goods across art, science, research, and technology. Three times a week. Forever. As more people participate, the amount of funding grows. There is no committee that can quietly shut it down or redirect it for short-term interests.
Crypto is not used here for speculation. It’s used as a public record. Actions, decisions, funding, and participation are logged openly so trust can emerge naturally and can’t be reset or rewritten later.
Because identities persist and reputations are earned, AI can actually be useful. It helps people find where they can contribute most, coordinate with others, and unlock opportunities that fit who they are and what they’ve done.
The long-term goal is ambitious: to grow into a nation-state-scale internet economy that offers real opportunity outside traditional systems, without requiring permission from governments, platforms, or institutions.
6529 isn’t about replacing existing economies. It’s about steadily building a system where trust, coordination, and public goods can scale with the internet itself.

A Day in the 6529 Network (~2035)
You wake slowly.
Coffee.
Light.
The world hums.
You open Brain - not to scroll, but to contribute and coordinate.
Your identity is not an avatar.
It is the pattern of what you have chosen to stand with over years.
Time is your signature. Your TDH and REP sit quiet beside you, like age rings in a tree.
Work arrives like weather.
Not commanded.
Not assigned.
Simply routed to the people who have cared longest and shown it.
As a doctor with heavy REP in medical expertise today you will focus on:
- Oncology research
- A river cleanup in West Africa
- A new teaching module for young doctors
No committees.
No applications.
The network knows where you fit because you have been here.
Your medical reports become part of the shared memory.
Not hidden.
Not owned.
Portable to whoever needs to trust them next.
Students gather around your voice, not because a university said so,
but because your work has weight.
In the evening, a new community lab opens.
Funded not by taxes
not by grants
but by culture
three public goods a week (The Memes)
like steady breathing
meme time carries forward,
keeping the treasury alive.
The day closes.
You look at the memory log.
The network has grown again.
What changed is not intelligence.
AI exceeded us long ago.
What changed is that humans learned
to remember together.
To hold meaning.
To carry trust.
To act as one mind online
without losing themselves to the clicks or algorithms.
A digital civilization, not declared
but grown.

ngl this post puts a whole new spin on ART is the EXIT STRATEGY meme for me
Memes and NFTs are the exit strategy into the network state
6529 ✨
IMO people who called network states "colonialist" are wrong and misguided.
We've seen a lot of large-scale colonialist evil the past few years. Almost none has come from network state exit libertarians, while a lot has come from people who decided libertarianism is outdated now
"If you disagree with how things are run, go start a new thing" really is a very "robust-to-error" position to take. The potential negative consequences of what you do are localized, and are inherently bounded. Even though with the internet you can act globally you're taking a large handicap on network effects. AI doom will NOT come from an island or a boat in international waters. And much of what we're recently seen is some former libertarians realizing "why oppose the government when you can just take it over", which has MUCH LARGER downsides.
I think we should update on this, and be kinder to the "exit" position going forward.
Caveat: I think there is evil that has recently come from libertarians, notably from political lobbying, both for "bad deregulation" (eg. I oppose deregulating AGI/ASI) and for "deregulation no matter the side effects of how you achieve the outcome". But the people doing these things are specifically not the "exit" faction.

Curating The Memes by @punk6529 requires decentralized decision-making,
but what does that actually mean in practice?
Most people (including me) have an incomplete view of it.
After 4 months of voting + talking with other voters, here’s what I’ve learned 🧵👇
