Decentralization is one of crypto's superpowers, but it was mostly kicked it to the curb while everyone gambled on memecoins
It starts with a Squiggle and hopefully grows into something much much bigger π
1/ On Squiggle #6529
I would like to explain why we are excited about βbuying a Squiggleβ
While Squiggles are, in fact, sweet, the exciting part is that every part of this process happened in a decentralized manner.
2/ @aRegularDad proposed a Meme Card to fund a Squiggle acquisition.
81 profiles participated in the Main Stage vote and voted with TDH to mint this as a Meme Card
The card won. 77 paid editions were minted, providing 2.51 ETH for the acquisition.
3/ @cheesebiz and @bankons helped scout and connected @squiggleDAO . SquiggleDAO suggested trying to acquire Squiggle 6529
The price was 3.01 ETH, so @MadaCollects who had been following the discussion, chipped in another 0.5 ETH to the pool (respect!)
4/ The seller wanted to stay anonymous, preserve the provenance (no intermediary transfers) and keep their vault secure.
Ultimately, the seller trusted SquiggleDAO and 6529 network and sent the Squiggle directly to the 6529 Network Museum before receiving payment.
5/ Reminder: What is the 6529 network museum? It is a SAFE vault organized by TDH, owned by the network, a cultural asset, NFTs go in, but ~they do not go out.
It is the network-native concept of a national public museum
6/ Finally, one more step to replace the temporary art on the card with something appropriate for the long-term. Well, another TDH vote of course.
@ricardotakamura won with THE VAULT, a long-exposure light painting made at Casa NUA in Brazil.
7/ So to recap:
- Decentralized network mints a meme card to buy a squiggle
- Decentralized network picks which squiggle to buy
- Decentralized network updates the art
- Decentralized network permanent home for the squiggle
8/ What was my contribution to any step of this project?
Nothing at all. I was not involved at all in any way.
I had a vague awareness that it was happening, but was not following any of the details, let alone helping.
9/ Now, some of you are thinking βok, fine, that is cute, the NFT nerds are collecting NFTs againβ
Maybe.
Or maybe collecting NFTs is a generalizable proof of concept, and there is no actual limit to this primitive.
We will see soon enough.
10/ Thank you to all who organized, the voters and everyone who minted.
Great job by all.
In 6529, the βgatekeepersβ are the community of holders who minted or bought cards, along with winning artists who received them for free.
Decentralization isnβt about giving everyone a vote. Itβs about fair rules that apply equally to everyone, with no central authority enjoying special privileges. Equal opportunity, not equal outcome. This is exactly how I would describe Bitcoin as well.
6529 isnβt a communist society built to support artists. Itβs a network state designed to grow itself while funding public goods, including art, software, science, research, etc.
The tech stack includes its own censorship-resistant coordination app, a novel decentralized decision network, and a growing set of smart contracts, including new ones designed to increase artist revenue.
The goal is to be the third most decentralized chain at the launch of the network by independent validator count (coming soon!!). This is a beautiful ambition which should be supported not torn down.
IMHO, 6529 has delivered more value to more artists than any other platform. Yes, the network takes 50% to fund its own growth, but it has no VCs or special insiders to fund it. The Memes is the only funding mechanism for the network state and mints are open to anyone with an internet connection.
Also, once the chain is live next year, the broad community of aligned TDH holders who have participated in the open minting process or artists who have won submissions will control that treasury together.
I look forward to valid criticisms of the network state from people looking to improve the project. To criticize you must first understand. I see a lot of the criticism. Very little understanding.
Iβm sure we will see many good ideas from community members, artists and builders as the project grows.

As an artist whoβs been in the NFT space for almost six years, I can honestly say that 6529 is on another level! π€
Personally, Iβve found it to be one of the most professional, organized, reputable, and forward-thinking teams in the space. And beyond that, thereβs incredible art and a welcoming community where artists can connect and stay active every day.
Iβve worked with different collectors, experienced multiple waves of buying activity, and seen the ups and downs of NFT sales. If youβre looking for a place to build for the long term and be part of something with a clear vision, I genuinely recommend giving 6529 a chance π€
β° My connection with 6529 isnβt new; it goes all the way back to 2022 ποΈ

6529 is not perfect
it's a WIP
but it's the best attempt in the space yet
it has survived while many projects have failed
the surface hasn't been scratched yet
the community is growing in quality
and yes there are challenges everywhere including 6529
but let me ask , who else has been minting thrice a week in the last 4 years ?
I guess any talk about 6529 is good
even ossen's challenging remarks,
that's why they make them,
so people talk more about ossen.
one day you' ll understand it ππ
Artistsβ reactions to Ossen:
If Ossen doesnβt buy their art:
βJust another whale using his buying power to get attention. Heβll probably go back to extracting value from people at some point.β
If Ossen buys their art:
βEveryone needs to appreciate what Ossen is doing. Heβs supporting artists, challenging old conventions, bringing fresh perspectives to the space, and redefining what art collecting can look like.β
Funny how the narrative changes depending on whether you benefit from it.

Let's call 6529 what it is.
πͺ Decentralized curation like nowhere else
π³οΈ Ownership-weighted voting
βοΈ A 50% mint cut towards building decentralized infrastructure for network states
βοΈ Artist support the project by submitting JPEGs
Soon decentralized. The network always wins.

Marfa Airplane Thoughts:
I have spent hundreds of thousands of dollars supporting artists over the last four years since joining the space.
Zero percent chance I would have done that if it wasnβt for 6529 network and the likeminded people that are constantly discussing art and our deep belief in the success of NFTs.
Collect what you want, where you want, and how you want. Freedom to Transact.
However, we should be constantly thinking about how to move from PvP to P^P. Celebrate those that are still building, still creating, still collecting.
If you donβt like an approach, then you certainly donβt have to participate. However, if you care about the success of the space and you care about its futureβ¦ please critique with the intent of helping the builders make things better.
I am very proud of all of those that continue to build our collective future and those that work to understand and make things better.
We are going to make it because of exactly this. Drown out the noise, keep bettering yourself/the space and we will attract more amazing people to join this movement.
Anyways catch yall in Marfa! Canβt wait to meet even more remarkable people.

Bitcoin decentralized money. Ethereum decentralized code. 6529 is building a way to decentralize coordination.
Four fair questions are going around: Where does the money go? Is spending audited? Is access open? Who holds power?
Answers with sources, plus what's still unsolved π§΅

6529 is currently a great platform. But why?
When you publish a Memecard, they donβt look at your follower count, your floor price, or how well-known you are.
What matters to them is the Memecard itself. You create a piece of art, and people vote for it.
Itβs a platform where you can interact with people. On top of that, the edition revenue is a much-needed source of income for many artists.
There wasnβt a voting system before, but with the introduction of voting, the platform has become more professional, and of course, it will continue to improve.
Also, as far as I know, the more Memecards you own, the greater your voting power.
And there are no restrictions. You can publish multiple Memecards, so youβre completely free.
Of course, there will always be criticism. I also criticized the platform back when there was no voting system, but right now, I think itβs a pretty good platform.
ossen, you came into this space making noise, throwing money around, and getting everyoneβs attention. Especially that of artists who are struggling in this market, hoping for their next sale.
And now youβre shitting on communities that took years to build.
First it was Apes. Now itβs 6529.
I canβt accept that.
There are countless reasons why 6529 has been great for this space, especially for artists. Beyond the community of collectors and artists it brought together, it gave artists opportunities they might never have had otherwise.
Artists received 50% of sales that often generated far more than their own independent edition drops.
My own card (#77) sold out 500 editions in 47 seconds, generating over 130 ETH in secondary volume. That moment changed my life. And Iβm just one of countless artists who benefited from what 6529 built.
You can criticize the project all you want. Nothing is above criticism. But if youβre going to publicly tear down communities that have genuinely changed peopleβs lives, at least explain what youβre doing better.
Because building something meaningful takes years. Shitting on what others have built takes seconds.
So go ahead. Build something better.
Iβll be waiting.
