Listening to Tinker Tailor (1988). I can't believe the BBC is axing Radio 4Xtra. Where will next generation hear world's best archive of radio? Off the top of my head: Strangers and Brothers, Count of Monte Cristo, Brothers Karamazov, The Corrupted, HR, Ed Reardon. Such a shame

Bad news: the BBC is set to scrap Radio 4 Extra. 📻 Losing this treasure trove of classic comedy, archive drama, and timeless storytelling would be a huge blow for millions of us.

Great to have more young people from Balerno HS out with us yesterday, preventing litter entering the water at the start of the urban stretch of the river. Balerno send different pupils every month so we can engage with as many as possible, encouraging pickers not droppers. Fab👍

In my opinion, we're going to lose something incredibly valuable to the cultural fabric & history of this country. If Radio 4 Extra with its carefully curated archive isn't the epitome of public service broadcasting, well, I don't know what is. Only the BBC can do it. A sad day.

In Manchester this week a church was demolished by the council. So were the windows. It is very easy to remove stained glass windows. Costs - a cherry picker and two/three people a day or two. Would they demolish a museum with artefacts in place... a gallery with paintings on the wall? ...

Great turn out in Balerno to help with sweeping leaves and removing some old fence posts from Graham's Garden in preperation for the imminent new drystane wall to be built. We also removed some invasive snowberry and did some planting in the garden. Very productive, thanks folks!
