My friend, 73, got a call last Thursday from "the IRS." He said she owed money and had one hour to pay. She was a fourth-grade teacher for 31 years. She said, "Before we start, what's the capital of Nebraska?"

In free nations, we investigate crimes to see who is guilty of them. In communist tyrannies, they investigate men to see what they can be punished for.

My USPS package is in Jacksonville Florida, and the tracking says it will be delivered by November 12. FFS, I could float down here to St. Croix on an inner tube faster than that. That Jacksonville hub is like a black hole for packages.

This account is ruining my life
The scrambled eggs at a hotel breakfast are 19% water, and they're dyed. A lot of hotels and cafeterias pour them from a carton of Papetti's Breakfast Blend. The spec sheet reads whole eggs, 19% water, then under 2% of salt, xanthan gum, citric acid, annatto color and natural butter flavor. Papetti's is part of Michael Foods, one of the biggest egg processors in the country. Every ingredient has a job on a steam table. Xanthan gum holds the added water in the egg so it doesn't weep into the pan. Citric acid keeps the eggs from turning gray or green under a heat lamp. Annatto puts back the yolk color the water washed out. The butter flavor is there because nobody is going to add butter. The carton keeps for 98 days in the cooler. The plain version from the same company is whole eggs, whey, skim milk, xanthan and citric acid, with almost no added water and half the sodium.

Hen is down to 4 chicks. Just figured out who the culprit is, she just gallantly fought off a hawk. Lost quite a few tail feathers. Hid her chicks under some screening I've been meaning to clean up in the back yard. I guess I'll leave it there until they can fend for themselves.

iPhone users about to discover what Droid users discovered a few years ago, why foldable phones are not nearly as popular as you'd think they should be.

I shared a studio with one of my biggest clients. We also shared a client, a HB who represented a huge percentage of both our revs. We'd go to lunch a few times a week just to disgust various problems with the client.
I guess the flipside is eventually every exploit will be found and then there just won't be any exploits anymore?

I'm continually amazed that iPhone users will line up for features that Samsung had 6-7 years ago. Every iPhone owner will tell you that when Apple does something they do it better, okay, whatever.
i genuinely thought the era of ppl camping outside apple stores for a new iphone was over. but friday might bring it back. it's been a long time since an iphone launch felt like a cultural event rather than an annual upgrade cycle.

Musk could walk on water and the pundits would still be saying, he is a "wild card", and we don't know what he will do. MFer, he is showing you and you aren't paying attention. They hate him because he can't be controlled by them.
