I spent two years telling everyone I was over my ex. Then one night with him nearly destroyed the relationship I had worked so hard to build.
My ex and I had dated for four years before breaking up over constant arguments and financial problems. I was heartbroken, but eventually, I met another man who treated me well and gave me the stability I had always wanted.
I convinced myself I was happy.
Then, at an old friend’s birthday party, I saw my ex again.
He looked at me and smiled the same way he used to. We started talking about our past, laughing about old memories, and remembering the dreams we once shared.
