Don't follow the money. I did, and look where it led. PACT, Inc. An NGO nobody's ever heard of. I asked @MikeBenzCyber about it. Old CIA front. Now it's showing up in @DataRepublican's Insurrection files. In 2023 the USG paid it $375M to destroy democracy. Funding chain: datarepublican.com/browse/?e… Read up on PACT: grumpytechbro.com/orgs/pact-… I used to be normal. – at Oregon, USA

Oleanna (not Oleana) by David Mamet. 1992 play. Saw it done on the NAU campus.
> be a high-flying MIT scientist > discover mTOR > expected to win a Nobel Prize some day > have consensual relationship with younger female biology MIT professor > she accuses him of sexual harassment, coercion and grooming after he declines a long term relationship with her > MIT launches investigation > MIT lets the accuser’s allies help pick the judges and threaten the president if he wasn’t destroyed > lo and behold, investigation finds he violated MIT’s sexual relationship and anti-harassment policies > he gets fired and resigns under threat of termination > loses his lab > he sues her for defamation > jury awards him $6 million in defamation case and rejects her claims that she was coerced in any way How did 13 members of a civilian jury come to a different conclusion than @MIT? Answer: MIT’s investigation was not exactly independent thanks to coordinated female faculty collusion. It was a kangaroo court and the verdict was pre-determined

Teslas lower collision rates are lowering everyone’s State Farm rates because of the rebate thing State Farm does when they pay out less.

Hey @StateFarm when will my Model 3 insurance rate reflect the safety of FSD?

I'll admit it....I had to look up "sinecure". That's in my vocabulary now.

I rage count the clocks I have to change. I lived in AZ where we ignored such nonsense. Cutting a foot off the bottom of the blanket and sewing it to the top to make it longer.
One good thing about turning the clocks forward or back... Now nearly all of our clocks change automatically. I only need to change the stove, microwave, and one wall clock and a few watches. In the old days, just changing the car clock was tough because I could never remember how to do it from one season to the next.

Cool story from a proud mom.
Here's a bit of trivia info: @DataRepublican and @DataInterpretr have worked together for years. When my daughter is required to present or be interviewed, they spend quite a bit of time preparing and going over notes together to make sure they get it exactly right. Years ago, when Jennica went to work for Snapchat, they started providing interpreters for her at meetings and such. Just about every interpreter refused to return because the language that they were required to interpret was so technical and unfamiliar. BUT, @DataInterpretr, hung in there. She found it fascinating and was willing to put in extra effort to learn the vocabulary. In fact, the two of them invented signs for some of the "tech" terms that have become mainstream in the deaf community today. And the bonus is that they are great friends in real life. It's truly a God thing that they found each other. I couldn't be more proud of them both.

In defense contracting, Document Control is a big deal. The blueprint is the spec. You can't change anything without a stack of paperwork. It's the atoms version of GitHub. As head of engineering, my dad had to hire the head of Document Control. She had to hire file clerks. Some file clerks file by number. Some file clerks file by alphabet. They are not the same people. I'm telling you this because Brazil votes by number. You type your candidate's number into the machine. About 5% of ballots came back null or blank. The margin was under 2 points. As a UI nerd: nightmare. Go here to follow the Brazil opposition, 𝕏 won't show them otherwise: grumpytechbro.com/brazil.htm… – at Oregon, USA

In the 1960s, my dad hired a woman to run Document Control. He paid her what he'd have paid a man. Not making a "statement." That's what the job cost. It made her the highest-paid woman in the company. The previous record holder was the President's secretary. The secretary got the other women to go full Mean Girls on her. She came to my dad in tears and asked him to cut her salary. He said no. Equal pay: solved by an engineer, sabotaged by HR before HR existed. – at Oregon, USA

Competence should be nonpartisan. Unfortunately…
King County's homelessness agency had over $1 billion in grants available over six years. They left $260 million of it unspent. But they budgeted their overhead like they'd spent every dime. So they still ran a $16.7 million deficit, and borrowed from the county to cover it. Their records were such a mess, auditors had to rebuild six years of books from individual checks and invoices. Homelessness doubled on their watch. Councilmember Rod Dembowski says people died because that money never hit the street. A shelter for older women in Kenmore got told "we don't have the money." They had a quarter billion dollars. This isn't compassion. It's malpractice. Shut it down.

🚨🚨THE DEMOCRACY FILES / ILLEGITIMACY PLAYBOOK, PART 10: THE ROLE OF FOREIGN STATES🚨 (First post deleted for typo) How is an old government declared illegitimate and a new government declared the true successor? Months before the actual transition, the following are achieved in advance: • Civil society and activists get prepared for big uprisings. • Media narratives are pre-seeded. • Foreign officials provide cover. The last point is what this drop is all about. You saw it last night - as soon as Lula "won" the election, EU officials and Alex Soros immediately swept in with their congratulations. That is a deliberate strategy to grant Lula legitimacy, not an organic congratulations. The idea is to saturate the people with the idea that "this is the legitimate government, and you will accept it." In these files, we see the various NGOs strategize on how to reach out to governments in advance and prepare them for what is coming. We also revisit how USAID OTI, the regime change arm of USAID, allegedly re-organized themselves inside the country. We record one meeting taking place between Horizons Project and Catalonia officials. That we were able to document a meeting at all is unusual, because I'm told that these meetings are generally arranged at the highest levels and kept off the record (think Jake Sullivan, Norm Eisen level).

Just wired my new lawyer $25K via 𝕏 money. I had to send a photo ID first. Like I said in my mail-in ballot article: we guard money better than votes. Your $25K gets ID-checked. Your ballot gets mailed to whoever lives at your old address. xitter.cf/GrumpyTechBro/status/2… – at Oregon, USA

I'm a UI nerd. Voting has a UI problem. You have to design for humans as they are, not as you wish they were. Bush v. Gore: the butterfly ballot. I honestly don't think a bunch of old Jews in Miami wanted to vote for Pat Buchanan. But the D's signed off on that design, so they were stuck with it. Hello, hanging chads. Brazil: no ballot at all. You type your candidate's number into the machine. Get the number wrong and your vote is null. Lula 60M. Bolsonaro 58M. Null ballots: 3.9M. More nulls than the margin. That's a stupid, human-hating system. Alaska, 2022 at-large House special: Republicans got about 59% of first-round votes. The Democrat won anyway. About 5% of ballots were exhausted because voters didn't rank a second choice. That's a lot of unhappy Alaskans. This year it's two Dan Sullivans on one ballot. The state threw the second one off after interviewing him. Someone paid his legal bills, and he's back on. Trump says if the margin is smaller than fake Dan's total, it's a mulligan. The DOJ sued to block certification. Dems call that overriding the will of the people. RCV already confuses the will of the people. You shouldn't need a strategy guide to vote. Or a memorized number.

Arsonists bidding on the fire department contract.
June 2008, candidate Obama: "we'll lower premiums by up to $2,500 for a typical family per year." That year KFF (Kaiser Family Foundation) put the average family premium at $12,680. KFF's 2026 number just dropped: $28,303. Workers alone now pay $7,471, up 9% in a single year, while wages rose 3.7%. Then 2013 brought the sequel: "For a lot of people, it will be cheaper than your cell phone bill." Show me the phone plan that runs $2,358 a month. Nine days before the midterms, the party that built this machine is asking for your vote again. Arsonists bidding on the fire department contract. Competition, price transparency, portable plans. Anything except another rescue from the people who wrote the original.

It’s much easier to win when you just mark ballots invalid until you’re out front…

This box of Maine absentee ballot return envelopes was shipped to a residential house in Maryland. The house happens to be the listed HQ for a Soros-funded electioneering non-profit. Maine's AG closed the investigation with no answers as to how it happened...
