Omarchy 4.5 is here, and it's an absolutely MASSIVE release! 🚀
This is easily one of the biggest updates to @omarchy yet, with tons of new features, major performance improvements, and support for entirely new hardware.
Here are the highlights:
- Massive performance improvements: Installation takes roughly half the time, with much faster menus, theme switching, and desktop responsiveness.
- 50 languages: Full internationalization with live language switching and improved Asian language input support.
- Independent monitor workspaces: Each monitor gets its own workspaces, with layouts remembered when reconnecting displays.
- Floating desktop mode: A completely new workspace layout with floating windows, themed titlebars, and a dock.
- Rebuilt notifications: Notification history, grouping, snoozing, Do Not Disturb, and interactive actions.
- New customization features: A unified Appearance menu, animated theme intros, video wallpapers, and the new Starship theme.
- Expanded hardware support: NVIDIA N1x, Snapdragon X, and Apple Silicon Macs, with Omarchy Mac integrated into the main project.
An incredible amount of work went into this release. Congratulations to @dhh and all the contributors who made it happen!

RAWmakase 0.4.0 is now available.
RAW files are now processed by our own Rust-based decoders, about 20% faster, with better Lightroom rendering parity.
A fundamental change in the internals.

I've been using Vim mode for nearly 20 years, and I still don't think there's anything impressive about doing everything with the keyboard. On a computer, the mouse and keyboard should both be well supported. Software with limited mouse support isn't truly user-friendly.

Seeing the things these idiots are saying, I installed @OmarchyLinux on my old MacBook anyway, even though I can’t get used to using a tiling window manager. These woke idiots are beyond saving, no matter how technically skilled they are.
The Woke activists of Open Source are very, very upset about the @OmarchyLinux foundation getting funding from several high profile tech leaders.
Here we see leaders from GNOME, elementary OS, and Postmarket OS lamenting about Omarchy (and those involved with it) being “fascist” and “bad tech” which does “as much harm as possible”.
According to the elementary OS founder, the reason why “nice Tech” does not get funding is that “nice Tech” is “woke and gay and like communists”.
They also made statements about “Temu Elon” and a “Blood for the blood god, skulls for the skull throne” (a Warhammer reference).
Can I make sense out of all of that? No. No, I cannot. Some of these statements appear like the ramblings of a drunken hobo.
But, clearly, they’re not happy about Omarchy seeing success.
