Designers: "My design process is messy AF, and my files are a dumpster fire of unnamed layers and ideas that went nowhere." Design interviewers: "Show me the step-by-step scientific method you used to make the company more money. Tell it to me like a TED talk. Also, metrics."

Can we deliver a great website just using @NotionHQ? @timjeffries and I think yes. We spent the past two months buddying up to prototype, design and create a website entirely in Notion. 🧵 A thread from a designer's POV:

In school we think that we should optimize for grades when the true goal should be learning. In our careers we think we should optimize for salary when the true goal should be impact. Optimize for the right goal and the score takes care of itself.

1. If you're a designer and you want more power, there's really only a few ways to get it. You either need to change your role or your reputation.

Context here: Dr. Khodadoust told us to call him Dr. K, all his patients do. After a few meetings I said "Thank you Dr. Khodadoust" and his eyes lit up 😲😊. He said no one does that, not even his residents.
