A new metro line is an opportunity for another #PuneMetroMeetUp, but missing the organizer @Gautaamm this time ☹️
Everytime a new #Pune metro line or segment was inaugurated , @Gautaamm would enthusiastically organise a metro meet up.
A ride, tea, bun maska, few laughs, many memories, new friends- the journey continues.
Awaiting the date and final program for Line 3.
@nnpgg
Everytime a new Pune Metro line open ups, I arrange a #PuneMetroMeetUp.
The idea is simple: meet at Garware station, go to the last station now open and come back and have tea and bun masks at either end.
This is the 4th such Meet up and is always a lot of fun.
In attendance today were: @heytal @pnqiad @ayadwad @sschivate @shinils (who comes all the way from Kalyani Nagar for each meet up) @GodboleSandeep @AswadPune @thatsabhijeet .

Every new Pune Metro line became a reason for friends to meet, laugh and make memories.
Missing @Gautaamm as the new @MetroPuneri line started operations. We come together in his memory, with love and a commitment to carry what he started, forward.
Details soon. #PuneMetroMeetUp

Philip Crosby, in 1992, wrote a book titled Completeness, extending his famous "Quality is Free" and Zero Defects philosophies.
In the mid-nineties, he visited India often and wanted to do for India what Deming was credited with doing for Japan - start a quality revolution.
Deming passed away a few years later. Whether he would have been successful in his mission for India or not, we do not know. But the principles of quality he taught, especially 'Completeness ', should be a must-read for all involved in building India's infrastructure.
This is sad. @metrorailpune allows bicycles, rather, encourages them, but @MetroPuneri doesn't allow them. Somewhere, it shows absolute lack of co-ordination and standard practices across providers and doesn't paint a good picture. Needs to be worked upon. @mohol_murlidhar @Dev_Fadnavis @narendramodi

Pune Metro Line 1 & 2 @metrorailpune : "Bring your bicycle, go green, ride into the future! 🚲🌱"
Pune Metro Line 3 @MetroPuneri : "Bicycle? What is this, a gym? Leave it outside for a safe and smooth journey".

In 2000 a Cambridge professor published a paper in Nature about this desk toy. 26 years later physicists are still arguing about how it stops
It's a heavy steel disk on a mirror. As it loses energy, it spins faster and louder, and then it stops dead, all at once. Turn the sound on
The professor was Keith Moffatt. His math said the wobble speeds up toward infinity in a finite amount of time, the kind of infinity physicists usually only talk about inside black holes
Something has to stop it first. Moffatt blamed the thin cushion of air under the disk. Others spun it in a vacuum and blamed friction instead
In March 2026 a team from Harvard posted new measurements and sided with the air, at least for the final moments
The toy was invented in the late 1980s by Joseph Bendik and named after Leonhard Euler, who worked out the math of spinning bodies in the 1700s
A steel disk, a mirror, and 26 years of disagreement over the last second of its spin

There is also a chapter on entrepreneurship in the Grade 9 Social Science Part 2. It explains basics of profit & loss account, business plans and so. Most importantly, it presents risk-taking, innovation and business as a positive activity - quite different from how previous textbook portrayed it (with emphasis on "hoarding" and "black-markets"). 2/2

The economics segment of the recently introduced NCERT textbooks for Social Science (Grade 9, Part 2) now has a chapter on personal finance. Students are taught basics about fixed deposits, mutual funds, EMI, taxes, risk-return and so on. The idea is to provide them with useful life skills. 1/2
