As the Academic Year 2026–2027 begins, HIMATI is honored to announce the opening of our applications for the following positions: • writers • photojournalists • layout and graphic artists • visual artists (traditional or digital) • broadcasters • video editors • web developers Heed the call. Amid the worsening political and socio-economic crisis, now more than ever, the studentry and the Filipino masses need fearless and critical journalism that does not remain silent but stands alongside them in the pursuit of truth and justice. Yet press freedom remains under attack, from campus publications to independent and alternative media, journalists continue to face red-tagging, harassment, surveillance, and state repression. The administrative interference against Primum, alongside continued detention of community journalist Frenchie Mae Cumpio and the extrajudicial killing of RJ Ledesma, underscores the dangers by those who dare to report. In the face of these attacks, it is imperative that journalists persist in their mandate to uphold the people’s right to know, confront the machinery of disinformation, and remain unyielding against the silence imposed by an oppressive system. To write is already to choose. 📍 Submit your applications here: tinyurl.com/HimatiApplicatio… 🗓️ Deadline: August 23, 2026, 11:59 PM Requirements (to be submitted with the completed application form): 1.
