I work in a school doing IT. Imagine getting asked this multiple times a day almost everyday. The flip side is I get cheers and clapping when I fix the screen for teacher. So there is that. I imagine most IT people don’t get a round of applause when they fix something.

It appears that the Incase Designed by Microsoft initiative has disappeared? incase.com/pages/incase-desi… page is gone and all references to Microsoft have been removed from Incase website. Almost exactly two years later and it is done?

Did anyone else have Intune issues with MDM join yesterday? My org is hybrid with devices joining AD and then auto join Entra / Intune. I tried to setup a device starting about noon Pacific and couldn't get it to enroll. I had to leave it and it enrolled just before 4 PM.

I was getting that error every 5 minutes. Suddenly at 3:53 PM Pacific that error went away and I got the standard message about not having a licensed user since I hadn't logged in yet. I thought I was having issues with 26H2 since I was just starting with that. Works now?

Hey @bdsams topic suggestion for FRD tomorrow. Why does a 64 GB Intel Surface Laptop cost almost as much as 128 GB Ultra? Who is going to spend the $5000+ on a Surface Laptop? microsoft.com/en-us/store/co… is where I found pricing for 15" laptop.

Hey @bdsams on some recent episodes of audio podcast version of FRD the first few seconds are repeated. It started to happen maybe a month ago. It isn’t every episode maybe 2-3 a week. Just letting you know.

New (to me at least) view filter in Teams and Sharepoint. By default, it only shows word and excel documents. Including hiding subfolders. This is so dumb. Users thought their files and folders were deleted. You have to hit clear to see everything again.

Thanks to @MyNameIsMurray for going on this journey with me and to others like @mniehaus, @jarwidmark, and @miketerrill for giving suggestions. After a month of back and forth with MSFT support, I have my Surface Pro 13" 12th Intel Edition PXE booting properly.

Hey @mniehaus or @jarwidmark or any other PXE / MDT experts. Got a brand new Surface Pro 12th Intel. When I attempt to PXE boot it gets to here and freezes. I can swap dongle over to Pro 11 and other models they boot fine. Only have one of this new model. Is this a UEFI issue?

The answer to the boot issue appears to be an outdated version of wdsmgfw.efi on my WDS server. When I added the updated WinPE version the server ingested and updated the file in C:\RemoteInstall\Boot\x64 to the one in the .WIM. This is likely what fixed it.

Hopefully this is my last summer with WDS + MDT and I will be able to get DeployR working and ready to go. Hard to believe it has been 20 years since I learned about BDD and TechEd.

TIL (I think) you can have groups Mail-enabled Security Dynamic Distribution Dynamic Security but not Mail-enable Dynamic Security! Why can I not have a group that is Dynamic + Security + Mail? Only two of the three?

Wait, is the solution making both a Dynamic Security and Dynamic Distribution list that are identical but used for different purposes?

I can create a Dynamic Distribution Group and then make it a member of a Mail Enabled Security Group? Does that work the way I think?

Hey @bdsams one comment about the id Software on FRD this morning. Paul said what has id made in the last decade. Only two of the best FPS. Doom (2016) and Doom Dark Ages. I will definitely mourn the loss of id Tech if that comes. It is uniquely different than Unreal Engine.

I posted on reddit.com/r/SCCM/comments/1… about the @surface Pro 13" 12th edition Business Intel and have gotten others saying they are seeing same. Microsoft is still trying to prove it is my environment not the device. Anyone have this device that can test and open case as well?

After over a week of nothing from Microsoft support, they finally got back to me. If they tell me they won't support me due to MDT I am going to scream. I guess I build a generic WinPE that doesn't have anything to do with MDT to prove it is PXE boot issue?
