Tonight my thoughts and prayers are with the family of Royal Ulster Constabulary officer John Rodgers who in 1974 was shot in the back of the head and murdered by this Sinn Fein/IRA terrorist.
Paul was then convicted to life imprisonment - but sadly only served 15 years.

Just received the greatest retail service in my life. Ordered a specific champagne , order screwed up by the distributor, the retailer sorts it out and to meet an important deadline for me, does a 250 mile round trip to deliver to me today, on a Sunday!
Massive shout out to Harry the owner (who personally made the trip) oakhamwinesonline.co.uk/
These guys really deserve massive success. Please use them.

Mandelson failed deep vetting on January 28th 2025, so why was the US & Canada Department looking at moving his start date to 14th January 2025 if there was even the slightest presumption - as Starmer maintains - that the post was subject to actually passing vetting?
This letter even states simply, ' Going through the vetting process'. It doesn't state - 'subject to passing the vetting process'.
It was a done deal the moment Starmer announced it irrespective of whether or not deep vetting passed him.
Robbins was in an impossible position.

In the process of disclosing to MPs information relevant to the appointment of Peter Mandelson as US ambassador, one document is weirdly absent, as Cat Little, chief operating officer of the civil service told MPs in answer to a question from John Whittingdale. It is a minute and note of the meeting in which the prime minister gave instructions that Peter Mandelson should be appointed to Washington. Ms Little said her team was still looking for it

There’s a glaring contradiction in Starmer’s evidence. He is expressing anger at not being told Mandelson had failed vetting. So if it was so important to him why didn’t he simply wait for that process to end before appointing him.

You are not credible, reliable or strong if you rely on lies to cover your backside. That makes you untrustworthy and an embarrassment as a PM.
Sir Keir Starmer will not resign over the Mandelson vetting scandal
Asked by Sky News if he will consider his position Darren Jones, chief secretary to the PM, told Sky News: “No. And I think if you look at what’s going on in the world, not least in relation to the conflicts in the Middle East and what that’s doing for people’s living standards, energy bills, food prices…
“You need a credible, reliable, strong Prime Minister to be able to take the country through those difficult challenges.”

Always a tweet.
Boris Johnson will happily hang the last civil servant out to dry before he takes responsibility or does the right thing.
Fresh from throwing junior staff under the bus, he’s plotting to sacrifice his henchman to save his own skin.
Rotten to the core.

great come back, so many strings to your bow. You should stop lying and/or being so shit at your messages and I wouldn’t have to repeatedly point out your flaws. You double downed twice, and were still wrong?

That sentence doesn’t even make sense! I think you mean if private companies extract oil and gas consumers will not benefit. The government will through an increased tax take. Which will increase as the oil price rises, an economic stabiliser in itself. To govern is to choose. One reason Liz Truss’ budget failed was she was going to subsidise consumers’ energy needs too much. The government actually receives money granting the licences but thats small compared to the tax take
