It was inevitable and had to be done. An unfortunate situation for Arbuckle, who was expected to turn the offense around in Norman. There is a lot of blame to go around for the offense not performing. Arbuckle is the first one to fall on the sword.

Had to happen. This won’t magically fix anything, but there was no other choice.

Here is what is bothersome about the entire thing.
Jim Nagy was pinning posts all off-season.
Brent said we were working on the running game.
We hired a top of the line RB coach.
Gabe and Teddy said they were seeing it at practice and this was his best roster.
There was TRUE belief in the building.
This is the product?
It's truly baffling and i know there are people who will act like they knew all along this would be the case, but the truth is they gambled just like those of us who believed.
Lest you forget, @PickSixPreviews a nationally respected and objective journalist, picked Oklahoma to be in the SEC Title game. Off of his own merits, no one coerced him, no one paid him.
There is deep seated anger from Sooner Nation. And there should be.

This was the end of the CFP as far as I'm concerned, the day it was made clear that ESPN is an SEC lobbying firm masquerading as a legitimate sports outlet when they left an undefeated conference champ out of the playoffs so they could kiss Nick Saban's wrinkled ass one more time

This is what happens when you make the playoffs the only thing that matters and remove regionality in a sport that spent 90% of it’s formative years valuing tradition and rivalries over having a functional process to crown a national champion
Can no longer claim to be a football school. This is an embarrassment #sooners

The Top 25 this week proves why a 24 team playoff is one of the dumbest, money hungry ideas ever.
Are you going to tell me these teams deserve to be near a playoff spot?
We had it right at 12 but greed is a crazy drug and schools are addicted to it.
A moment that altered Florida State’s program and Mike Norvell’s life.
Who knows what happens if they reach the CFP that year and play in the Rose Bowl.
What transfers and recruits they might’ve landed as a result of that accomplishment.
But winning all of their games wasn’t good enough (because a certain conference had to be coddled) and FSU has since gone downhill and Norvell has been fired.
