1.) industry standard price, quality art is NOT supposed to be cheap. if you’re bitching abt the price, then don’t buy it.
2.) art is not supposed to be perfect, and just because a piece has imperfections it does NOT mean it’s ai. a lot of the mistakes i’ve seen pointed out are typically genuine artist mistakes.
3.) “the collar in the right picture isn’t right! it’s clearly ai generated” it’s easily an artist oversight. artists, myself included, can get lost in small details when working on a piece and we don’t see bigger issues, ESPECIALLY if we’ve been working on it for a long time.

Your buddies were right.
A decrease in traffic is to be expected when you first raise your rates. Seems scary at first, but don’t let it dissuade you. As you sharpen your skills and increase your output that’s what you’ll want in the long run because it’s less taxing on you, especially when you have health concerns. The goal should always be to work less for more.
Your rates are very low to begin with so a $10 bump is not an outrageous increase in price.
I’m gonna encourage you to try it again.
