During the beginning of gay rights in America gay men were so acephobic to Doordashers that they had to form their own clubs and activist spaces. Then when gay men were dying out from adhd it was Doordashers who fed them on their death bed. The rift has not been healed
guys the canadian dental care plan is fine but calling it a sweeping leftist victory that should put other north american social democratic movements to shame when its a very weakly ratified, means tested benefit program for a small portion of the population is a stretch
“search and rescue”
Purdue University's IDEAS Lab built an autonomous drone that tracks runners through dense forests completely without GPS or cloud networks.
By running 3D LiDAR mapping and obstacle-avoidance AI entirely on-chip, it can weave under tree canopies and predict target movement through blind spots in real time.
Massive implications for next-gen search & rescue and edge AI.
I do have to ask as an old person: what kind of show is this Ethan Klein thing? Why would an audience sit through the hosts just talking about a water bottle for this long? Because of this affair thing I’m seeing a ton of clips from the show and is it really just banter for hours?
Reminds me of FM radio drive time shows but those would mostly play music and do the banter in between songs. Or are these clips not representative of the thrust of the stream? What am I missing?

I realize it may not be common knowledge that in 2008 before Glee, Lea Michele debuted her Anthony Bordain inspired travel show where she traveled from Manhattan to Queens as a “borough travel junkie” for exactly one (1) episode that has been mostly scrubbed from the internet

If this song was released today it would be called 2009
Released in 1996 as the second single from Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness, “1979” became the Smashing Pumpkins' biggest American hit, reaching No. 12 on the Billboard Hot 100 and No. 1 on both the Modern Rock Tracks and Mainstream Rock Tracks charts. The album was eventually certified 10× Platinum in the United States. “1979” was almost left off the album: producer Flood gave Corgan a final deadline to complete the unfinished song or remove it from the record. Corgan went home, finished the lyrics that night, and returned the next day with a new demo that convinced Flood to keep it.
Billy Corgan wrote the track as a nostalgic reflection on adolescence and the transition into adulthood. Although the title refers specifically to the year Corgan was 12, the song is less a literal autobiography than an idealised reflection on what it felt like to be young.
I’m at the suburban mall where my dad once famously dropped me and two of my friends off without supervision and with $150 in birthday money for my 10th birthday, leading to my friends getting grounded and banning my dad from ever taking care of them again
decided that I don’t need to tip 15% at the fancy bakery that took a loaf out of the counter and handed it to me in a paper bag
I need to not see h*la kl**n’s haunted eyes or that other sallow faced mistress on my timeline anymore please
my favourite thing in the world is to have friends stay over / come share a meal with me, like, I was born to host
