Building and training autonomous and recursively improving AI systems - @zerg_ai

I'm building Zerg (@zerg_ai): systems where AI agents don't just write the code, they get better at writing it. What I post about: - running lots of models and agents at once (harnesses, routing; ZergRouter is out) - self-improving loops, where the hard part is the evaluator, not the optimizer - paper breakdowns and explainer videos on agent research Follow along for what actually works when you hand real engineering to agents, and what breaks.

I think a big effect of AI will be people wanting to own their technology full stack - it will be the equivalent of ultra processed foods but for tech with AI it'd be possible to just buy tech "by the pound" and let AI flesh out the system level -> application level experience that you want which means you know you're not getting spied on or your data taken / sold / abused
WTF, $3000 Samsung TV has an always-on mic, automatic content recognition, geo tracking, network mapping, and ships your data to Samsung + 400 partners. Bro Rooted a brand-new 2025 Samsung TV after noticing absurdly targeted ads. Firmware was locked down, so zero-days it was. Got a root shell. then found: always-on voice service, ACR, geo, full telemetry pipeline, and four separate DRM systems. This isn’t a bug, It’s the product bro.

As a fun making of post, I used the "ZergBoard" which is a tool we have built internally for @zerg_ai which lets me just yell at the box, which turns into tickets, which then get automatically implemented - it's fun, I've made this session public: zergboard.com/app/boards/156… /

Here's the live ZergBoard for the project - zergboard.com/app/boards/156… It's fun to watch as the backlog fills up / gets addressed /

I've always though that Counter Strike 1.6 was the best one, and so this clone is intentionally low-fi and the focus is really on the mechanics and feel - still lots to improve, so would love feedback and hope it is fun for folks

I added a "auto shoot" in the mobile touch controls mode. Auto-shoot will shoot your gun if you properly line up the shot, this addresses what I always felt was a deficiency of touch controls for FPS games without it feeling "auto-aim" or hax - it's still difficult to master /

Inspired by @jaivinwylde I put the entire game of Counter Strike 1.6 into Twitter with working multiplayer - just click below to play! twitterstrike.com/

This is a complete "clone" of Counter Strike 1.6 including classic modes like Gun Game - it's a monolithic WASM Rust clone, and so as a legal CYA zero assets from the original were used - all (poorly) generated assets using AI or tools /

This is refreshing to me, not because of how AI has "changed mathematics" but more in the sense of how so much of modern existence is made possible by sitting on the shoulders of giants. As my grandfather said, everyone contributes a drop to the ocean - this kind of honesty in a field that to me has always been defined bye elitist gatekeeping (which is one of the reasons I love math personally, but never pursued it academically) is extremely refreshing. If this is the end game of AI, where everyone is forced to implicitly adopt a beginners mindset - sign me up.
Jacob Tsimerman, who won the Fields Medal this year, thinks mathematics will soon rest on proofs no one understands. He says it’s already true of many of his own theorems, which build on accepted results whose proofs he doesn’t know. Full episode: youtu.be/6uIJdXmB4vE

packing cubes for fun and profit (99.9% fun) xitter.cf/idanbeck/status/210951…
Not entirely sure how to visualize the results... but some fun higher dimensional packing experiments I need to project these down to 2/3 dimensions to really understand what is packing what exactly...

Excited to introduce Onyx and announce our $8M seed round led by Dimension to build a virtual immune system! Onyx has always been a story of connection. The first connection was to my cofounder @amlakhan, a deeply curious technologist who I’ve been fortunate to call a friend for 19 years now. I've always said that working together was a cornerstone of starting Onyx, and it truly has been one of the best decisions I've ever made. Connection is also at the heart of what Onyx does. We believe AI is key to making biological complexity tractable, ultimately transforming life sciences into an engineering discipline. But that requires the right data. AI performance compounds with context, and richer biological context comes from more connected data. In biology, such context is often missing: molecular data, clinical history, and change over time are typically captured in isolated fragments. Onyx provides the substrate that connects them, pairing genomics, transcriptomics, proteomics, and metabolomics with rich clinical histories. By studying these layers together in people over time, our data platform traces how real human biology changes in response to infection, inflammation, and treatment. Seeing how these trajectories differ across people brings us closer to understanding what drives disease—and to developing precision medicines that work better for real people. Yet connecting data is only possible because of the people who have connected with our mission. Nearly a thousand members have already joined our research studies. They are more than research participants: they are difference-makers transforming how we understand some of humanity’s most complex and chronic diseases. I always say that our work is for people, but the truth is that people make our work possible. That connection comes full circle, and at Onyx, people will always come first. Finally, as we raised our oversubscribed round, we sought more than just business partners. We wanted investors we felt a true connection to—not merely sources of capital, but co-conspirators in creating meaningful change. To that end, we feel incredibly fortunate to have joined forces with @_DimensionCap, @haystackvc, @refactor, @standard_vc, @robotventures, and many more. Now back to building!
Today we're introducing Onyx, a research collective building a virtual immune system: a model of how real people respond to infection, inflammation, and treatment. We're launching with an $8M seed round led by Dimension Capital. onyx.bio/news/introducing-on…
