🇧🇬BREAKING: Bulgaria has formally requested NATO reinforcements following the recent drone attacks on commercial vessels in the Black Sea.
Defence Minister Dimitar Stoyanov confirms that Sofia has requested:
• Combat aircraft and maritime patrol aircraft
• Air-defence missile systems
• Counter-drone systems
• Additional allied forces and a stronger NATO presence
The request comes after multiple attacks on commercial shipping, including strikes inside Romanian territorial waters.
Bulgaria is also seeking a coordinated response with Romania and Türkiye.
NATO has yet to announce a decision on the requested deployments.
