Oh yeah, now *this* is how you do an engagement post.
The Big Ten-ification of NYC is a direct result of Chicago’s shrinking cultural and economic influence

---> GB (17) @ DET (17) <--- DET has 4th & 1 at the DET 24, Q4 04:53 Recommendation (VERY STRONG): 👉 Go for it (+8.1 WP) Actual play: 👉 J.Gibbs up the middle to DET 22 for -2 yards (K.Nixon).

Ok, but in hindsight this was actually the smart decision.

I'd say it wasn't a pretty win, but any win over the Green Bay Packers is a BEAUTIFUL WIN. W

I’m liking these penalties.

Two consecutive pro-Biggs anti-Hilario ads at halftime of Lions/Packers. Really aiming straight at the high-engagement north side Midwest transplant voter.

The six yard indirect free kick is one of the greatest things that can occur in the game.

It’s impressive how UIC’s Tim Shanahan has managed to light his credibility on fire with this curriculum.
I've looked up the sources of some the excerpts in our HMH textbook. Imagine trying to slog through these boring texts everyday as an 8th grader. Here's a thread 🧵

This is like the first good bit of social media content he’s done.

If people dislike Elon Musk so much, why do they still use the platform he owns?

the company @eveewing (kevin coval, guy who asks weird questions to teen girls and sleeps in a hat, etc) keeps is uh, interesting
Only 49% of CPS students eat school lunch. In Cincinnati, that number is at 80%. Getting lunch participation up by even 10% more in Chicago, could mean more back for our schools from the federal government. Thank you, Eve Ewing, for this conversation. Punch #124 on November 3.

Ordered from Middle Brow tonight and was reminded of the fact that back in 2020 they used to stamp “Defund the Police” on their takeout pizza boxes. (The pizza and wine were both really good though)

The schools on this map closest to me: Yates: a n’hood school with barely one class per grade that ever-so-progressive Logan residents aren’t sending their kids to. Fuentes: Lost 52% of its enrollment last year after CPS took to over from ACERO and is still open because 🤷‍♂️
I'm the only candidate on that stage who has made a firm commitment not to close schools. We know which neighborhoods school closings hit, because we've lived through them. Closings are harmful to our Black and Brown communities, and they don't work. They don't save money and they don't improve academics. Closing schools is a failure on our city’s families, students, and neighborhoods. That's why we built a tracker so you can see if your neighborhood school is at risk. Then there’s “still vacant” Von Humboldt that’s only still empty because Hilario’s ally Jesse Fuentes has stalled the project in red tape.

And if you actually click though the map of supposedly closure-threatened schools, it’s loaded with random-ass charter schools that frankly haven’t justified their continued existence.
