Before anyone meets the founder or executive behind a company, they often ask AI about that person first. @jasonmbarnard explains how our free AI Audit for individuals & companies shows what AI says about you across six AI engines & what to work on first.
See how AI sizes you up Prospects and investors ask AI about you before they meet you. A scattered record gets you less credit than you’ve earned. Our free AI Audit shows where AI undersells you and what to engineer first >> kalicube.com/free-ai-audit-a… #ExecutiveDigitalBrand #AEO

.... or how Google tried to too little, too late, and out of fear to (badly) compete with ChatGPT using their same approach to AI answers, rather than an “open web” friendly interface (please see what Yahoo! did with Scout) and now suffers the consequence... along with millions of sites losing traffic and revenue.

Is AI underestimating your company? Your clients know what your business is worth. AI may not. When what AI finds about your brand is thin or outdated, it describes you as smaller & less credible than you are. Our free AI Audit shows where & what to fix. Link in the comments.

What's the vibe of this Zero Click Marketing book? I figured a little 2-minute storytime (and nine outfit changes) might help clear that up 👇👇👇

Based on this small study, websites who opt out of Google's AI answers could see up to a 20% drop in clicks • AI links had an ~0.9% click rate • Opting out ALSO led to a drop in regular organic clicks - aka the "Halo Effect" • AI answers continue to push down organic results

Put together my thoughts on Google's Q3 earnings call. A few things of note: ▪Google sees AI Mode, AI overviews and traditional Search as one unified product. ▪Expect rapid acceleration because of RSI (Recursive Self Improvement.) ▪Selling TPU Systems (not just chips) is key to Google's growth ▪"We are in the early stages of agentic experiences across our surfaces." Do not freak about 404s in GSC... they are totally normal and will not cause massive problems (as long as those urls should 404.) Also, don't blindly redirect pages you are removing to the homepage or top-level category page. Google can see those as soft 404s anyway, and those redirects can confuse users (since the content they were searching for can't be found on the homepage...) From Gary in the video: "Don't redirect every 404 to the homepage. Redirects should lead to genuinely relevant destinations. Redirecting unrelated, deleted URLs to the homepage can confuse visitors and produce misleading data."

Here’s a prompt I love for finding the most-linked-to content across dozens of sites at once. (Not to copy anyone, but to get inspiration for your own efforts.) "For these 20 [finance] sites, pull live crawled pages tagged as ‘Research’. Remove anything that isn’t an article, then use Batch Analysis to rank them by referring domains." You can provide the sites yourself, or ask ChatGPT/Claude/etc. to pull organic competitors via the Ahrefs API. For some sites, opinion pieces pick up the most links. In industries with a lot of SaaS companies, you'll see a ton of original tools and research. Check content sites in the beauty or fashion space, and you'll likely learn more about the research they report on rather than create. Start small to make sure you're happy with the results. On our cheapest plan with API/MCP access (Lite), you could check ~30K URLs this way if you only pull back referring domains, which could be hundreds of sites depending on how much they cover that specific page type. Of course, not all links are created equal, so you can play around with different filters. AI is then really good at finding commonalities, excluding topics you've already covered, and highlighting anything you might have unique insights on. As I say, the goal isn’t to copy anyone, but to get inspiration on ways you can make something great. Hopefully this is useful. Please let me know if you would like to see more of these 🙏

Last year, I interviewed a dozen copywriters for a role at @Ahrefs. Only one could tell me which books, frameworks, courses or thought leaders they'd studied to get better at their craft. I posted about it on LinkedIn and it blew up. 545 comments. Most people agreed with me... Some others told me to just "judge the work," which I don't actually disagree with. Some people are just naturally very talented at putting ideas into words, without neccessarily knowing how they do it. 🤷 But even among those natural talents, many of them still take time to study the craft. And I'd argue those are the best of the bunch. Now... It's been 17 months since that post, and AI has gotten seriously good at writing copy. Which definitely raised the bar of what "average" looks like... But it didn't magically turn OK copywriters into AMAZING ones. (At least not from what I've seen.) That being said... We're looking for an AMAZING copywriter to join our team at Ahrefs. Specifically, for the role of "Brand Communications Manager." [Job posting linked in comments.] If you know someone who would be a great fit for us, please tag them below. 🙏 Other than that... Any help spreading the word to help us find an AMAZING copywriter is greatly appreciated! 🙏
