I’m getting a bit tired of hearing the word“distribution”. People on X act like it’s this magical thing forged over centuries. Guess what, you can buy distribution. I can buy ads. I can buy a forum related to the problem space. I can sponsor a YouTube channel. That’s all distribution. What people on X mean when they say “distribution” is “earned media”. Yes that takes more time to build up. But it’s not the only type of distribution.

I really don’t think every successful SaaS needs a moat. Sometimes being good, affordable, easy to use, and actually answering support emails is enough. We’ve made this way more complicated than it needs to be.

If you want a successful SaaS you have to do the BORING work. You can’t just post screenshots on X all day. Do SEO, cold email, LinkedIn. If you don’t want to do those things, don’t start a SaaS.

I don't get the point of sharing I earn 20-30k$ MRR and brag about it. This is so fake in like 90% of the time. Some have a co-founder and get like 50%, and thats pre-taxes, and pre-product expenses which with AI for most ain't little. So in general you're earning like 3-4k, which is less than someone as a mid engineer in Europe, and way less than a mid engineer in the US. I hope some day this MRR brag goes away, this is motivating for like 1% of the people, and others just think low of themselves.

$14k to advertise to indie hackers at $2+ per click is crazy. Cool for the flex. Terrible for the ROI. Put that money into Meta/TikTok/X ads and I'm pretty sure you get 10x more customers.

500 visitors in 30 days challenge 🗓️ Day 23 - May 8 👨🏻‍💻 Continuing to monitor SEO performance in Google search console. A bit weird though, 373 impressions in the last 24 hours but still no clicks. Average position 7 —> on the first page but 0 clicks. The content is getting seen, now it needs to earn the click. 👉 indieroadmaps.com
