Shay we want to defend our votes in January? Let's defend each other first. Defend this brother first. The "spirit of aluta" needs to be exercised to be sharper and more focused. So a great place to start defending your votes in January, is to defend Mr. Olawale. Ideally, democracy is not just the allowance to vote and be voted for. It is an all-encompassing system of freedom and citizen sovereignty. But that one na for paper. In reality, democracy is Nigeria is the license to do greater evil than any dictatorship and get away with it — precisely because you're not a "dictator" 🤣

I am deeply concerned by reports of the alleged arrest of Rilwan Olawale, an Obidient in Lagos, reportedly by the Department of State Services (DSS). The circumstances surrounding Rilwan’s reported arrest, including the reasons for his detention and the legal basis for it, remain unclear. I, therefore, call on the DSS. @OfficialDSSNG to immediately clarify the situation and, if it is responsible for his detention and there are no lawful grounds to hold him, release him without delay. If any allegations exist against him, they must be addressed through due process, not arbitrary detention or intimidation. I maintain that no Nigerian should be arrested, detained or intimidated for their political beliefs, affiliations or peaceful expression. Our democracy cannot thrive if citizens live in fear of exercising their fundamental rights. Security agencies exist to protect Nigerians, not to make citizens afraid of their own country. I will continue to monitor developments and seek clarity on this matter. Our democracy must never become a system where dissent is treated as a crime and citizens are punished for exercising their constitutional rights.

Tinubu's wife recently launched Mummy's Men Movement to counteract the influence of Seyi Tinubu's City Boiz. To "pepper" the other divide, she has gifted them vehicles worth 120M naira each. They are not even hiding it. xitter.cf/dayoisrael/status/2114…

Exercising your rights as a citizen is not a crime. During Nigeria’s military era, citizens protested, campaigned, and risked their lives to demand democracy and good governance. Their sacrifices helped pave the way for the freedoms we enjoy today. Mr Rilwan Olawale did nothing wrong by exercising his civic rights, and he deserves to be free!

That the APC National Youth Leader and close ally of the President would make such an insensitive post is no mistake. It is a reflection of how they see the people. They do not care about the hardship and sacrifices they keep asking you to make. The pain of the reforms is not theirs to share. It is yours alone to suffer, while they live large. Those party members chastising him are not doing so because they disagree with him or care about your suffering. They are doing so because he makes their job of lying to you harder. They don't care. And they will keep rubbing it in your face.

CIVILITY IS NOT WEAKNESS. ENOUGH OF THE HARASSMENT OF MY SUPPORTERS. RELEASE RILWAN OLAWALE NOW. The continued intimidation and harassment of my supporters across the country, the latest being the case of Rilwan Olawale, is disturbing and unacceptable. President Bola Tinubu has remained a huge beneficiary of our democracy and should not brazenly be destroying it by encouraging and facilitating violence. Our campaign is peaceful and issue-driven, focused on offering Nigerians a credible alternative built on competence, accountability, justice, and compassion. We have chosen the path of peace, not violence; persuasion, not intimidation. However, nobody should mistake our civility for weakness, our restraint for fear, or our commitment to peace for an absence of resolve. We will not be intimidated into silence, nor will we abandon Nigerians who believe in a New Nigeria that is possible and will be OK. I therefore demand transparency regarding Rilwan Olawale’s arrest, his release, respect for his rights, and an end to politically motivated harassment. No government or political party has the right to deny Nigerians the freedom to support a candidate of their choice. We will remain peaceful but resolute. We will not resort to violence, but we will stand firmly and lawfully against every attempt to undermine our democratic rights. A New Nigeria is POssible and will be OK. -PO

The arrest of this young man by the DSS simply for mobilizing support for Peter Obi is shameful. Peaceful political campaigning is not a crime. Carrying an NDC flag and urging people to support a candidate ahead of 2027 is a constitutional right, not a security threat. When the DSS is deployed against young Nigerians for supporting Peter Obi instead of focusing on real threats like banditry, kidnapping, and terrorism, it sends a clear message: the state is more interested in silencing political opposition than protecting citizens. This is intimidation, not law enforcement. Democracy dies when supporting a candidate becomes grounds for arrest. Release him immediately. Nigerians will not be cowed.

The APC kept pulling down NDC banners in Lagos, so @richone090 became a walking banner. Now they want to pull him down too. We won't let this happen. I've been preparing for my own kidnapping too, since I've been pissing off some people. I must make noise about this. Put these hashtags in the comments! #FreeRilwanOlawale #FreeRilwanNow
