🎗️ Yield for a cause 🎗️
Wanted to take some time to talk about an upcoming mint happening on @blastr_xyz today from @pasteltonesss you can find out more information about her story from her page.
If you're new to Blast and refundable NFTs. Here’s a quick summary on an upcoming charity drop, how yield works, and how you can get involved.
1. 🎗️Minting the NFT: Mint an NFT by depositing funds into a smart contract. The mint price is 0.028.
2. 🎗️Funds Locked in Contract: Your funds are locked, adding to the total value locked (TVL) on Blast.
3. 🎗️Generating Yield: While locked, your funds generate yield.
4. 🎗️Supporting LLS: The yield goes to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, supporting cancer research and patient care.
5. 🎗️Refundability: You can withdraw your initial deposit anytime, making it a safe, refundable investment.
This means you’re investing in the ecosystem and supporting a great cause without risking your initial funds.
What is Blast?
Blast is a Layer 2 blockchain designed native yield.
How to Mint a Refundable NFT
Here’s a quick guide to get you started:
1. Set Up a Wallet: Use MetaMask, Rabby, or another compatible wallet.
2. Bridge eth over to blast: I bridge through @Orbiter_Finance
3. Connect Your Wallet: Visit @blastr_xyz and connect your wallet.
4. Mint Your NFT
- Go to the NFT minting page for the charity project.
- Ensure you have enough BLAST for the mint price (0.028).
- Follow the steps to mint your NFT. Your funds will be locked, and you’ll get your NFT.
- Withdraw your initial deposit anytime if needed.
Blast has huge potential, and I’m excited to see what else we can dream up. Jump in, mint an NFT, and help support a great cause while earning yield.
bloodbath
Republicans are going to have a terrible night, and the simple reason why is that Trump has put up perhaps the worst *performance* this term of any president in a century or more.
Remember that he entered with an actual mandate: the House and Senate, a popular vote victory and a swing-state sweep, and 6-3 Supreme Court. Democrats were afraid enough to vote for mild but real immigration restrictionist legislation in the Laken Riley Act. Everyone wondered how far the "Vibe Shift" would go.
Trump managed to turn that into essentially zero durable wins whatsoever. He personally *hates* the very idea of legislation, the notion that he would have to spend time going back and forth with Congress, learning details and making compromises. So he simply didn't do it! He didn't make a compelling case for abolishing the filibuster. He didn't try communicating clearly to the public in support of popular bills to get to 60 votes. He just decided not to do it at all.
So they passed an unpopular tax cut, some funding for ICE, and a sop to the crypto industry, and that was basically it. Least productive Congress in decades, due to the tastes of one man.
Trump adopted one of the worst macro policies we've ever had: high deficits, high tariffs, and attacks on central bank independence. We managed to pay higher interest rates while still having high trade deficits AND weakening the dollar. Just a total failure.
On immigration, perhaps THE signature issue, Trump essentially min-maxxed effectiveness and backlash. Instead of trying to leverage the political moment for new laws and a self-deportation agenda (that is, walling off the economy to remove the benefit of irregular presence in the US), he opted for a maximally aggressive approach. The administration spent attention, funds, legal manpower on stunts like deporting random people to Salvadoran prisons with essentially no due process. ICE and Border Patrol were encouraged to be aggressive and confrontational, which helped contribute to the shooting deaths of American protestors. It turns out, that's extremely unpopular!
What about the approach of going after employers? The obvious vector? Trump hated that idea! He repeatedly has said he doesn't want to target businesses (especially farms) that use large amounts of illegal labor. This is just an incomprehensible position. Instead of charging a few dozen businessmen and removing the incentive for millions of illegal workers to be here, you arrest people off the street one by one at the cost of thousands of dollars in manpower per each, while their crying wives and kids post TikToks about it.
Upshot on immigration: electoral strength turned into a crippling electoral weakness in exchange for deporting maybe 6% of the illegally present population.
The tariffs were a total shitshow. Embarrassing rollout, no underlying theory of action at all. No targeted focus on key industries. Our country tariffed products we can't grow. We tariffed *inputs* of our own valuable exports. The schemes and amounts changed constantly, sending the stock market reeling and presenting scenes of chaos to the world.
Trump's messaging throughout has been generationally bad. While facing nearly 2:1 unpopularity, he spends his days posting AI slop, saying he'll rename New Mexico or invade allies, among other bizarre remarks. He brags about a ballroom and a pool repainting while gas hits records. At no point has he ever attempted any kind of message discipline.
Then there are the deeply unpopular attacks on rule of law, his "game-recognize-game" pardons for all manner of scammers and criminals, the crypto schemes that he and his family engage in, the evilly conceived and embarrassingly executed legal attacks on Comey, Jerome Powell, and others. With his monthslong stand on NOT releasing the Epstein files, he became maybe the first president ever to stake out a 99-1 issue on the 1% side.
That's not even getting into Iran, DOGE, his candidate recruitment choices, or countless other things. Simply put: Trump has managed to royally screw up virtually every single facet of his presidency. It's been undeniable, voters have noticed, and there's really no escape from it. This is what the GOP base chose in early 2024, and this is the world they're living with now. Where they handed the reins of history to a fat, vain, washed-up old man and let him drive.

remember, it's all 100% self-inflicted
elected to close the border, reduce cost of living, and end forever foreign wars
instead they engaged in:
performative theatrics in blue cities instead of durable border policy
loud trade wars with everyone all at once instead of tactical engagement with China + strategic re-shoring of critical industries
poking every ally in the world in the eye simultaneously instead of doubling down on the ones which will matter for the next century
right before starting a war of choice with Iran at the apparent behest of Israel
skyrocketing the price of energy and most other things, making people feel poor and helpless, while engaging in pointless vanity projects putting their name on everything
all done simultaneously with the most corrupt and grift-laden admin in recent memory
and what, they just thought that the voters wouldn't care??
lmao

Everyone is always rooting for you. Your parents want you to be a great son. Wife wants you to be a great husband. Your boss wants you to be a slam dunk hire. Every first date you’ve ever been on they’ve been rooting for you to get laid. Every time you started to tell a joke people hoped it would have a hilarious punch line. Your proximity to anyone is a reflection of themself, meaning the deck is never stacked against you, and your failures are completely your own

These people are national heroes, and I love them. Anyone making fun of them is evil. They are American heroes who are putting children first. God bless them.
$6.25 billion. 25 million children. $250 each.
Susan and I believe the smartest investment we can make is in children. That’s why we’re so excited to contribute $6.25 billion from our charitable funds to help 25 million children start building a strong financial foundation through Invest America. 💪📈🇺🇸

One of the things I love about @Azuki is that sometimes there are pieces worth more than their price.
It’s not always about immediate return or how much profit one can make. Sometimes a piece will spark something in you, remind you of someone or something special and it becomes a must have. This is that kind of purchase for me.
This piece has been idle in a wallet for over 4 years. The second it was listed I knew I had to have it. So here it is.

Sam Altman was fired by his own board.
His co-founder Ilya left.
His top researchers left to start Anthropic.
His head of alignment quit.
He dissolved the safety team and its replacement.
He converted a nonprofit into an $850B for-profit.
He removed 'safely' from the mission statement.
His employees begged him to stand with Anthropic.
He said he would.
That night he took the deal they refused.
Then announced it on X like a victory lap.
And you still think this man is building AI for humanity?

Dear @AGPamBondi: You did the one thing your king ordered you not to do: you made Trump look guilty.
You also lied under oath.
And you surveilled the search history of Congress Members.
We are impeaching you when we flip the House. Unless you resign first.
Good evening.
On November 1, 2024, four days before the Presidential election, Bitcoin hit $69,500.
It is now at $69,200.
We’ve given up the entire Trump pump.
All while US government spending has gone higher and higher, the dollar has tanked, NASDAQ and gold are within reach of all-time highs.
The opposite of what most everyone on CT expected: Trump elected, nearly all risk assets rally, crypto tanks.
I have a degree in Public Policy & before crypto worked in the government for many years.
Tons of close friends & family still do.
The issue with America is the two-party system. It pits us Americans against each other.
It’s not conversation on ideas, it’s all framed as good VS evil, and the other side is ALWAYS ‘evil.’
Late stage capitalism consolidating wealth at the upper .1% creates hyper fixation on problems that the layman cannot control.
Then it radicalizes them when no changes are made.
With social media, there is an increased amplification on extremist rhetoric (on both sides of the aisle).
Not every issue has to be politicized, but both parties want them to be.
Why?
It drives donations & funding.
It’s never been about policy, it’s been about creating narratives to drive further division in our country in the name of profits consolidating for the rich (that back both sides).
It can change.
But the only way to make that change is accepting not every issue needs to be a political one.
Things can be wrong with America.
The left can be wrong.
The right can be wrong.
But we, as humans, should accept basic rights constitutionally guaranteed to us & embrace that the government doesn’t need our blind support on every issue.

absolutely bananas that this needs to be said to people are known to legally open/concealed carry, wear “don’t tread on me” shirts, and lament paying federal taxes in general
yet here we are
you won’t understand government overreach until it comes to lock you up next
enjoy the coming national police state, fam. you’ve earned it
Just saw the news.
I try not to talk politics on this account, but there comes a point where you have to use your voice.
The fact we have Americans, exercising their constitutionally guaranteed rights being executed in broad daylight is disgusting.
A post does nothing.
Calling congress does nothing.
There’s a difference between politics & being a decent human being.
Not every issue is a political issue.
Some come down to human decency.

Rather than supporting growth and users are who are chronically online, he finally admitted he has intentionally nuked our reach and tried to kill our community on this platform.
He's literally incentivizing people to post and create less content.
