Played through the demo of PC-98 horror game "Dead of the Brain" and would like to share why FAKKU's version is more than just a port but rather easily the most definitive version of the game as it provides a lot of cool technical features. The game provides your typical graphics and scaling options (sharp, integer, smooth) as well as a CRT filter. Text language can be instantly switched between English, Japanese, and Chinese. But what impressed me was the ability to show hover hints and hitboxes of interactables which will help those unsure on how to progress. Not only that, you have the option to choose the PC-98, PC Engine, X68000, or MSX2 versions of the soundtrack to listen to while playing! One FAKKU staff said this was a feature they really wanted to implement so I'm glad that they were able to!

The demo is now available for Fairytale's 1992 PC-98 adventure game "Dead of the Brain" by FAKKU. FAKKU recently acquired the rights to publish Fairytale's entire catalogue which includes Pia Carrot, Dengeki Nurse, and many more PC-98 games. The full version will release on October 30. The mad scientist has invented what he calls a "resurrection serum", designed to bring the dead back to life. But human hubris is always doomed to fail, and it's not long before things go very, very wrong. Sure, the serum revives the dead, but they return with no trace of their former self—only a terrible hunger for BRAAAAAINS! When the test subjects escape containment, all Hell breaks loose—literally. The dead rise from their graves as the town is overrun by terrifying zombies! So begins Cole and company's fight for their lives, and a desperate battle to save the world from a doom of their own making.
