Musician John Cale, founding member of the Velvet Underground, met musician Lou Reed and began working with him in 1965. They formed a band called the Primitives and then the Falling Spikes. When Sterling Morrison and drummer Angus MacLise joined them they formed the Warlocks, which later became the Velvet Underground. MacLise later quit the band and was replaced with Maureen Tucker. Andy Warhol attended the Velvets' first concert and became their manager throughout 1966 and 1967. He added Nico to the group, produced their first album, "The Velvet Underground and Nico" in 1967, and booked concerts for them in many cities around the US. In 1968 Cale left the group to embark on a solo career. He also produced many albums for a range of musicians and created music tracks for movies including "Heat" (1972), a Warhol/Morrissey film. This "Screen Test" of Cale from 1966 includes zooming in and out and cuts to shots with the camera tilted left and right.

HERE COMES MUMFIE (1975): Adapted from Katherine Tozer's books, with the same 'wholesome yet creepy' vibes as 1970's The Adventures of Rupert Bear (and shared some of its production crew). The Witch Up In the Sky was an absolute nightmare.
The theme tune is an earworm, though.

Halloween III: Season of the Witch (1982)—the lore of this film is beautifully unhinged. It’s a techno-pagan sci-fi horror about an ancient Druid who steals a piece of Stonehenge to turn children’s masks into transmitters for a mass television ritual sacrifice.

More people use drugs today than at any point in history.
Over 6% of the global population between 15 and 64 use illicit substances.
This is 34% more than a decade ago.
The 2026 #WorldDrugReport shows how drug use has grown over the years.
