Breaking: James Talarico has defeated Ken Paxton in the race for U.S. Senate.
He has become the first Democrat to win a statewide race in Texas since 1994 and the first of his party elected to the U.S. Senate from Texas since 1988.
This is how you build a community. By SHOWING UP in person for your people. How many times did we hear our parents say “I don’t feel like it, but I’m gonna go and show my face for a lil bit.” That’s why THEY have ppl coming out the woodwork for them whenever it’s their turn!
Birthday parties. Funerals. Hospital visits. We're raising our kids to attend anything they're invited to that's meaningful to someone else, even if they might prefer doing something else. Always go to the funeral.

Anyone looking for tickets to the UH basketball season opener tomorrow night vs. La Salle?
I have two tickets (sec 110 row 15) and blue parking pass. Will let a Coog fan have it all for $30. Just want them going to UH fan that will go.

tiana might be kenzie’s favorite princess, she probably loves the premise of the princess and the frog and decided to dress up similarly for halloween, tiana being a black character doesn’t mean other races can’t dress up as her. tiana is allowed to be popular.

I’ve said this before but I don’t think the WNBA is ready for Houston Comets Twitter to exist.
Don’t let us get Juju on top of that.
It’s bout to get real negative in this bitch.

I think there’s something very attractive about seeing your partner in their element.
Further proof the “village” will never go both ways lol
My friend wants to plan a couples, no-kids weekend getaway, splitting the cost of a large AirBNB, in January for her 30th birthday. I really do not love this idea (husband is mortified), neither to spend the money nor to get someone to take the toddler for 3 days. It would be a 2.5 hour drive away for us, too, so it’s not like we’re close if something happens. I haven’t been away from him for even 1 night yet and he still just seems so young! It would be very hard to leave him for that long.
Am I just a party pooper who needs to get over it? Genuine question. Like I actually need advice here guys

Houston athletic director Eddie Nuñez tells @PaperCityMag he's determined to make the sold-out UH vs. Oklahoma State football scene the new normal for the school. "The energy is what it should be every weekend," Nuñez says. "We've got two more (home games). This is my ask of our fans. We can do this every week. And so this campus, the energy, the vibe.
"This is what it's all about. . . We have such a network, this university. From a business side, from a personal side. We have to find ways to tie it all in. And football has that magic pill that basically says we can bring everybody together."

One of the best postgame moments of Houston's win over Oklahoma State was UH wide receiver Koby Young running up the stairs into the stands to celebrate with the student section. Young even borrowed a few students' phones and filmed videos of him and the college kids having fun, leaving some unforgettable memories on those devices.
"He's a special dude," UH quarterback Conner Weigman says of Young. "Special personality. Special talent. I can't say enough good things about Koby. He was a captain for us this week. What an honor it was for him when he got named the captain.
"I don't think he stopped smiling for 30 minutes."
It turned out to be a special night for Young in many ways. And he made sure the UH students felt like a big part of it.
