I'm officially a Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst (CAIA) charterholder as of today! @CAIAAssociation 600+ hours of studying over the last year taught me a ton about PE, hedge fund strategies, and how alternatives fit into portfolios. Excited for what’s next!

From Elm: "The US equity risk premium narrowed to roughly zero. For long-horizon investors, bonds look more attractive relative to stocks than they have in some time."
Elm market forecasts:

On 7/20, it looks like $CTA wiped out all its bond futures. Looks to only hold only ~10 commodity futures today. And the sub-advisor, Altis, has been wiped off the website. 🤔

Reporter on Bond Market: The yields have come back up since then. Have you talked to Bessent about another type of intervention.? Trump: The ultimate intervention is our military. And if we have to use that, we will.

OK I definitely don't have time to message 1,000+ people individually, so here's the DocSend to access the deck: docsend.com/view/s/rbh8nrrr5…

Our latest on the Elm site: A high VIX is widely considered to be one of the cleaner buy signals out there. This is commonly discussed in places like the FT and on investing podcasts. While pleasantly simple, we think this leaves out an important consideration: risk. Buying the spike means taking on a lot more of it, and strategies that did the opposite, trimming exposure when vol runs high, held up better.

Everyone hates bonds right now. Which is exactly why this chart matters. Real short rates and especially the real term premium are higher than at almost any point in the last 15 years! You were compensated almost nothing to hold duration risk. Today, you're being paid again.

"I hired my 15-year-old as an intern this summer. He used Fable 5 to build a model for SpaceX and he says the stock should triple by 2030" is a thing that was just said with a straight face on CNBC.
