"The graveyard is the richest place on earth, because it is here that you will find all the hopes and dreams that were never fulfilled, the books that were never written, the songs that were never sung, the inventions that were never shared, the cures that were never discovered.” - Les Brown … we have to stop hoarding our knowledge and share it with others
This is based on the @AP numbers from yesterday at 5:02pm. This shows what I've been hearing and saying. CHS lost ~20k voters from the CD-Republicans. @scott_colom met the voters where they were. In line at a Trump rally. Explained what he wanted for ALL Mississippians and people realized they had never heard the same from CHS. Senator of the People!
If @MSGOP is holding this up because people voted in the Senate race, but not the CD races, then they are in for a rough 2027.
Hey @nbcsnl since @mikeyfuntime isn't on X anymore, can you let him know we need to see him break down the election results in this character on @SNLUpdate
Hey @AP it’s time
Say it with me: Senator-Elect Scott Colom
Mississippi legislators need to address this posthaste.
AP explainer on why they say it's still too early to call Mississippi's U.S. Senate race. It's largely due to Mississippi's arcane election system: mississippifreepress.org/why…
For those that don’t know, Cindy Hyde-Smith is a cattle farmer! What was she thinking saying pick another protein? That’s your industry.
Reminder: 8.5 million Americans turned 18 between Nov 2024 and Nov 2026. The Democrats and horseshoe right-wingers did a better job of getting out the vote with young people. If the Republicans want any shot at 2028, they need to be scouring their roll for a 33-45ish VP candidate now who knows how to operate in a social media centric world.
I’m seeing a lot of people on here talking about the disparity between the number of Democrat votes and Republican votes. I need you to all remember this: 8.5 million young Americans turned 18 and became eligible to vote since 2024. They get their political news and views from where? TikTok. Who is actually on TikTok pushing back against the narrative?

ANY MS legislator not voting for early voting in MS in 2027 should be voted OUT!!
Dear Senator @cindyhydesmith, since no one else is telling you this, let me.
Put on your big girl panties, come out and concede this election to Senator-Elect @scott_colom. He needs to be able to participate in the New Senate Orientation and office selection that starts next week. The MS GOP needs to reassess their positions and prepare for 2027. This is a distraction.
If you are wondering why you lost:
1. You were an unpopular candidate during an extremely unpopular presidency. Senator Wicker showed that he was willing to push back against Trump, but I can’t recall a single time you ever did that.
2. Did you even campaign?
3. He outworked you up and down the state. Seriously, his signs were up and down 45, from the Alabama state line to 78.
4. Again, were you aware you were up for reelection? Because I’ve traveled the state extensively since July and I’ve seen maybe five signs for you.
5. You really tried let em eat cake in one of the poorest states. You didn’t even attempt to be relatable. The irony, of course, is that your family is in cattle farming. Such an unforced error.
6. Gas and grocery prices are up but wage growth hasn’t matched those increases.
7. Because at least 23 Americans have been lost in a war that no one wanted.
If you care about the State of Mississippi and this nation, it’s time to face reality. Concede. You’re gonna be fine.

This is textbook racial coalition politics: divide Americans into permanent identity blocs, cast one group as the common enemy, and treat demographic change as the path to power. It is the opposite of the American ideal that rights and citizenship belong to individuals, not racial groups.
It was wrong when Black people were treated as the enemy for breathing. It was wrong when Latinos were reduced to cheap workers that was going to steal manual labor jobs. It was wrong when Asians were cast as the group coming to take your high dollar jobs. Scare tactics disguised as best interest.
Yes, I know he tried to backtrack later and say he meant Republicans, not white people, but that doesn’t pass the smell test.🤔
Jen Psaki can’t hide her smile. This is what the Democratic Party is worried about. Not your gas or groceries or housing. Going after anyone who doesn’t fall in line.
Thank goodness we get to do this again in two years. 🫠

Really sick of hearing about establishment R's and non-establishment R's. We simply need decent candidates that aren't slimeballs, can articulate sensible positions and have at least a smidgeon of charisma. And it doesn't matter if Trump endorses them or not. His endorsements are based entirely on loyalty to him, not electability.
Imagine winning some of these races and being reduced to your skin color, gender, or religion. Identity politics remains more important than policies for way too many people in this country.
In this Mississippi race, numbers to note from the latest NBC data dump: Scott Colom outperformed the CD candidates by +25,500~ votes, while Cindy Hyde-Smith lost ~23.6k votes. Ty Pinkins also pulled about 1,100 more votes than Independents in the house races. There's no guarantee Pinkins voters would go blue or red, but this seems to confirm that he pulled voters from CHS.
In reliably red areas, Scott Colom was able to flip pockets of voters by actually speaking to them. (Who knew?!) I know personally of a family that flipped from CHS to Colom after the Alcorn County event. His on the ground presence and meeting voters where they were is going to be what gives him this hard fought win.
If Cindy Hyde-Smith is looking for someone to blame for her loss, she can start with Cindy Hyde-Smith.
Scott Colom’s judicial appointment had the support of Roger Wicker, Haley Barbour, and Phil Bryant. Had she gotten off her high horse and returned the blue slip, she would probably be celebrating a win this morning. Instead she’s singing If I Could Turn Back Time in the mirror.
