An interesting development in the French Tarmac Rally Championship is that with one round to go, it's looking like Raphaël Astier could win the title in his 992 Rally GT over the Rally2s of Yohan Bonato and Hugo Margaillan, as he has a 12 and 17 point lead over them respectively

The Marcos Mantis Marcorelly may be the most obscure of the "kinda-GT3-but-not" contingent. An upgrade to an existing wrecked Mantis resulted in a lower amd wider chassis, still with Ford 5L V8 power. It was placed in GT Open and Spanish GT's GTS class for GT3s from 2007-2010

The Cadillac ATS-V.R on the other hand famously ran Pirelli World Challenge from 2015-2017 and was never offered to customer teams. Ths Cadillac is also the reason for the 2018 rule change that required 10 chassis to be built per year for the first 2 years after homologation

With all the talk about GT3 becoming less customer friendly, here's the 2 GT3 cars that only ever ran in factory hands. The Morgan Aero 8 GT3 ran in 2007/8 before being updated with a new homologation to the SuperSports GT3 for 2009 (Which did have a private FFSA entry in 2010)

There's something poetic about the fact that 20 years after GT3 launched with of a bunch of preexisting racecars, some private efforts, and the Aston DBRS9 parts bin special, we're about to see the debut of a GT3 homologation special

So apparently the final round of the FIA Asia-Pacifc Rally Championship got cancelled, so shoutout to Jeet Jhabakh and Edgar Vigo, the only two drivers to do all 3 rounds by seemingly just showing up in whatever rides were available locally. Jhabakh (left) is the 2026 champion
