Toronto, golden hour, entirely in a browser tab.
Built on @mrdoob's Slop New York, three.js WebGPU + TSL, real city data, open source.

Slop Toronto picked up a lot of Toronto this week: stamped sidewalks, wooden hydro poles, shop signs on Queen West, parked cars, and you can ride the subway and the 504.
It has its own address now too: sloptoronto.ca 🧵
Search now has 308 works from the City's public art collection (168 with a marker where they stand) and 7,241 Heritage Register places, with designation, year built and architect. Two public-domain monuments are modelled: the Old City Hall cenotaph and the Fort Rouillé obelisk.
Slop Toronto is forked from @mrdoob's Slop New York, and I keep porting his changes across. Thanks for sharing the code.
Have a look around: sloptoronto.ca

This is my side project’s side project. It’s a kombi game set in Zimbabwe.
This week: a highway through jacarandas and savannah bush, and the city centre.

Slop Toronto is running on the @threejs r187 dev build. What an improvement.
Faster TSL builds and clustered spotlights, with a whole city to try them in. Really excited for this release.
Huge thanks to the team.

1/8 There's been an incredible explosion of creativity since @mrdoob put New York in a browser.
Here are a few of my favourite cities people have built since 🧵

7/8 Buenos Aires, complete with black-and-yellow taxis. I want more of these local details in city builds. They make me want to go exploring.

8/8 And here's mine: Slop Toronto. Still plenty I want to add, especially after seeing what everyone else is building.

Thanks @BlurSpline for the list and @berttemme for sharing it.
Have you built one? I'd love to see it.
