Today my great grandmother, Lily Ebert, an Auschwitz survivor, turns 99!
“I never thought I would survive Auschwitz and have another birthday. At 99, I celebrate to show that the Nazis did not win!”
All #HappyBirthdayLily wishes and comments will be passed on to Lily. ❤️

For decades, we have spent trillions to retrofit our cities, our public spaces and our society around cars.
It just didn't work.

You tweeted a link to a homophobic conspiracy theory on a fake news website about an attack on the Speaker’s husband. You then quietly deleted the tweet, without explanation or apology. Does that count as something ‘in particular’?

For those who haven’t spent much time in China recently, the density of cameras in this part of Shanghai is incredible. Easily dozens per block. Police will be going through to find the main instigators and arrest them away from the protests. Real bravery to show a face here.

Videos of protests across China are still visible on WeChat, even as they quickly become unplayable. This is definitely another Li Wenliang moment, when the full power of the world’s best censorship system battles the full fury of many Chinese. For now, the censors are struggling
