The energy transition is not just about producing more electricity. It is also about how much electricity we can store.
According to DNV's projections, installed energy storage capacity relative to electricity production is expected to increase dramatically:
2025: 80 kWh/GWh
2030: 180 kWh/GWh
2040: 350 kWh/GWh
2050: 540 kWh/GWh
2060: 810 kWh/GWh
That is more than a tenfold increase between 2025 and 2060.

🇩🇪 Germany is getting ready to sell Uniper, the gas giant it rescued for €13.5bn in 2022.
Uniper set a new dividend policy today to make itself more attractive to investors.
🔹 Dividend up 7% a year
🔹 €0.77 a share for 2026, up from €0.72
🔹 A minimum payout of €300m a year
The state owns 99%.
It has to cut that to 25% plus 1 share by the end of 2028 under EU rules.
It has 2 ways out: sell to a buyer, or float the shares again on the stock market.
A guaranteed, growing dividend is exactly what a stock market listing needs.
The buyers are lining up as well:

🔹 Brookfield with CPPIB
🔹 Křetínský’s EPH
🔹 Equinor
A sale could value Uniper at up to €14bn, according to people familiar with the matter.
4 years ago Uniper nearly went bust when Russian gas stopped.
Now private equity, a Czech billionaire and Norway’s state oil company all want it.
The reason is Europe’s gas crunch: whoever controls gas storage and supply has bargaining power again.
Uniper presents its strategy on 16 November.

6 listopada 2026 r. Komisja Europejska oficjalnie rozpoczęła negocjacje dotyczące rozszerzenia programu „Roam Like at Home” na państwa Bałkanów Zachodnich.
Nowe przepisy mają objąć:
🇦🇱 Albanię
🇧🇦 Bośnię i Hercegowinę
🇽🇰 Kosowo
🇲🇪 Czarnogórę
🇲🇰 Macedonię Północną
🇷🇸 Serbię
Po wejściu nowych przepisów w życie podróżujący do tych państw będą mogli korzystać z połączeń telefonicznych, SMS-ów i internetu mobilnego bez dodatkowych opłat roamingowych.
Każde z sześciu państw musi zawrzeć porozumienie z UE i dostosować swoje przepisy do unijnych standardów. Dopiero wtedy możliwe będzie rozszerzenie wspólnej strefy roamingowej.
🇪🇺 Warto przypomnieć, że Ukraina i Mołdawia korzystają z unijnego systemu „Roam Like at Home” już od 1 stycznia 2026 roku.

We have taken another step on Montenegro’s roadmap to sign its EU accession treaty as soon as next summer.
Today, we closed two more negotiating chapters on the free movement of goods and food safety.
Reforms under these chapters means easier trade with the EU, safer food for consumers and better protection of animal and plant health.
With more than two third of chapters closed, Montengro needs continued unity and focus on reform delivery to successfully finish the final lap of its EU path.

Even as we move into autumn, solar power still made up 13.2% of EU electricity generation this October.
The share grew by 2.6pp over October last year (10.6%), the largest year-on-year jump on record.
Solar's October share has more than tripled since 2020.

De stroomproductie in NW-Europa ging in oktober gepaard met gem. relatief veel CO2-emissie. NL kwam boven de 250 gram per kWh en DE zelfs boven de 300 gram/kWh.
De gem. emissie van BE daalde iets dankzij de opstart van 2 GW nucleair vermogen en veel import.

Grote batterijen worden voor zover mij bekend primair ingezet voor dienstverlening aan de netbeheerders. Zouden ze alleen dagelijks op de day-ahead markt acteren, dan zijn dit ongeveer de bruto baten per jaar per kWh aan capaciteit. Herkenbaar?
