I want to say it's slightly less bad than the reflecting or the East Wing or the Rose Garden or the chopping of 250 cherry trees.... but not really. It's just really bad.
Looks like the new multimillion dollar refinish on these DC statues is melting. It's almost as if the admin "paid" millions for gold leaf and then pocketed it and used model paint instead.

Three female Democratic Congressional candidates have all been in recent serious accidents including Heidi Kuhn & her husband Matt of Tennessee,Ohio Rep.Marcy Kaptur & Alaska’s Mary Peltola. At least two of them have a good chance of beating their Republican opponents. Sketchy!

33-year-old Alex Klinner died in Trump’s war back in March. But since, 7 months later, Trump still isn’t calling it a war — his widow and their three small KIDS (7-month-old twins and a 2-year-old son) are being denied basic benefits. Because those are only available to soldiers who die in WARS — not “excursions.” I don’t ever want to hear from another Republican that their party “supports our troops.” You send them off to die, then desert them when they do.

NEVER FORGET 🇺🇸 In 2016, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell refused to hold a confirmation hearing or vote on President Obama’s Supreme Court nominee, Judge Merrick Garland, for 293 DAYS. McConnell argued that an election-year vacancy should not be filled before a new president was chosen, subsequently allowing the seat to remain vacant for almost a year until Trump appointed Neil Gorsuch in 2017. If Democrats take over the Senate in 2027, they should refuse to allow a vote for ANY Trump nominee to the Supreme Court until January 2029. They should say, "We're invoking the Mitch McConnell rule."

They did more to react to that joke than they've done for victims of natural disasters.
Obama tonight on his Cheesecake Factory line: "They mobilized a whole of government response to that joke. Not to inflation, but to that joke. The White House even called the Secretary of the Treasury. This is the man who is in charge of the economy. The person who's supposed to be figuring out how to make your life more affordable. The guy who's supposed to be figuring out how to lower inflation. And reduce interest rates. They told him he should hold a press conference in front of the Cheesecake Factory."

It’s weird how all these right wingers keep getting charged with the election fraud. There must be some mistake - they’re the paragons of election security!! 🤣🤣🤣
BREAKING: James O'Keefe and Cam Higby have just been charged with identity theft and unlawful voting in Minnesota, charges stemming from hidden camera videos they made in August about the state's vouching system for voter registration. w/ @londonoe nytimes.com/2026/10/28/us/ja…

Your grandparents probably have a little round scar on their upper arm from the smallpox vaccine. Nobody gets that shot anymore, because 49 years ago this week the disease caught its last person in the wild, a 23-year-old cook who hopped in a stranger's car to give directions. His name was Ali Maow Maalin, and he worked in the kitchen at a hospital in Merca, Somalia. A driver pulled up one day looking for an isolation camp, with two sick kids in the back seat. Ali got in to point the way. He'd never been properly vaccinated, even though the hospital was supposed to cover all its staff, so that short ride was enough. About ten days later he came down with a fever. Doctors told him it was malaria, then chickenpox, and by the time anyone realized what he really had, the last wild smallpox on the planet had been walking around a port town for days. The eradication team tracked down every person he'd been near and vaccinated all of them. Nobody else got sick, including every patient he'd been cooking for. Then the world held its breath for two years. WHO put up a cash reward for anyone who could find one more case, and nobody ever did. In May 1980 they made it official, and smallpox became the first human disease ever wiped off the face of the earth. And this thing was enormous. Smallpox killed around 300 million people in the 1900s alone, more than both World Wars combined. 9/11 killed 2,977. In 1967, the year the final push started, smallpox killed about 2 million, which is like losing nearly two 9/11s every day, all year long, to one virus. The whole global campaign cost about $300 million over 12 years. The US earns back everything it put in every 26 days, just in vaccines it never has to give again. Wall Street would kill for that kind of return. Good news like this is easy to miss because it shows up as funerals that slowly stop happening, spread across years, in places most of us will never visit. Nobody pins a date on that. The records can't even agree whether Ali's rash appeared on October 26 or the 27th. Ali spent the rest of his life going door to door in Somalia, vaccinating kids against polio. He died of malaria in 2013, out in the middle of a polio campaign, still trying to help the world wipe out a second one.
