Pune has failed as a city.
And it genuinely hurts to type that as someone born and raised here who still owns houses here.
The traffic is pure, unending hell. Politicians and bureaucrats like @mohol_murlidhar @ChDadaPatil @navalMH @Dev_Fadnavis make beautiful promises, collect their cuts, and disappear. Coffers full. City empty of solutions.
@PuneCityPolice drop showbaazi videos of “catching criminals” for the algorithm. @PuneCityTraffic post fancy videos about how perfectly they handle the roads… while the actual roads look like a war zone every single day.
The RFD project is a catastrophe that’s actively worsening the urban heat island effect. Trees get felled at random and left rotting for weeks. There is no real public transport. Nothing serious is even planned. Just more roads, more digging, more flyovers - all of which do one thing: invite more cars and more chaos.
And the people. Native or migrant, doesn’t matter. Everyone drives like they own the entire street. Pure lunacy. Zero accountability. Never admit a mistake. Never improve. Never simply say “sorry” and move on.
I’ve seen lawless driving in this city since I was a kid in the passenger seat. It was never good. But at least back then people didn’t turn every small inconvenience into full-blown road rage.
These days just thinking about stepping outside takes a real mental toll.
Anyone else who lives here completely done with this place?

KHSWA’s Chain Fasting (Sakli Uposhan) against the @PMCPune for not providing the approved quota of water to residents of Kharadi from past 10+ years.
The water tankers are increasing and not sure from where they get water & PMC is unable to provide it.
If PMC is incapable of providing it then why the property (water) tax is collected?
Had taken the written commitment from PMC, let’s monitor & act.

This is a paid propaganda most probably done by Indigo Airlines to cover up the pain of thousands of people because of their mismanagement or may be spiteful action to subdue DGCA.
No one should fall for such.

Pune’s new Aundh–Sangvi bridge, inaugurated in October 2024 at a cost of over ₹30 crore, has quickly turned into a symbol of poor planning.
Barely a year later, it has been shut again for a ₹19-crore “beautification” project — even though hardly anyone uses it.
Built right beside two existing bridges, the new structure never attracted commuters because it lacks a proper entry point.
Only about 150 vehicles use it daily, while most motorists continue taking older routes to avoid confusion and wrong-way traffic.
Residents across Aundh, Sangvi, Bopodi and Dapodi are questioning why money is being spent on cosmetic upgrades when basic needs — pothole-free roads, traffic signals, police patrolling, CCTVs and signage — remain unmet.
They argue that the ₹19 crore could have addressed genuine safety and traffic issues instead.
With minimal traffic, the bridge has instead become a site for late-night stunts, gatherings and nuisance activities. Locals say what’s needed is proper surveillance and a functional entry-exit design, not beautification.
The project, a joint PMC–PCMC effort, was meant to ease congestion on Aundh Road. But flawed planning and alignment have rendered it nearly useless, even after cutting trees and spending crores.
Most commuters still prefer the older bridges and Bhau Patil Road.
In the end, the underused bridge has become a costly reminder of misaligned priorities: Pune doesn’t need aesthetic makeovers — it needs thoughtful, practical urban planning.
