This kernel of truth tells you 75% of the "media bias" debate. A more extreme version of it is why the Times spent 2016 doing an extensive multipart hit series on the Clinton based on research funded by Steve Bannon.

Today in "imagine if Joe Biden confused a man for a woman, and not just any man, a Lt. General." Like, there would not be enough room on the opinion pages of our major newspapers for all the pundits demanding his resignation due to mental infirmity.

Just last month, DoorDash couldn’t seem to find the money to pay their deliveristas — until our administration forced them to give back $131M+ in stolen wages and penalties.
This week, they’ve managed to find $17 billion to acquire one of their main competitors.
Corporate consolidation means higher prices, harsher exploitation, and greater economic inequality for New Yorkers.
We’ve stood up to these giants before. That doesn’t stop now.

Just wanted to remind folks that notes taken by the then-Deputy AG in Dec. 2020 quote Trump as saying "Just say the election was corrupt + leave the rest to me ..." This is a six year old playbook he's now implementing with his lackeys and the media playing right along with it.

NEW: The Times’s Credit Crisis
A recent New York Times front-page feature on chemical plants in the Trump era had deep reporting, stark data visuals, and an uncanny resemblance to a smaller outlet’s earlier investigation. Was this a case of unacknowledged inspiration, a steroidal dose of Times exceptionalism, or sheer coincidence?

The lies he's telling grow more outlandish by the day but it's left to local reporters to talk about them because national reporters are so numbed (or disinterested) they don't even bother mentioning them.
President Trump told former New Orleans news anchor @rooprajfox2 during a live interview in Michigan yesterday that everyone in a Louisiana community got $10,000 checks from a neighboring data center. My @WWLTV fact-check finds no such checks exist. wwltv.com/article/news/inves…

Republicans can freely insult other peoples' faith w/o repercussion in ways that would result in a Chernobyl-level meltdown if a Democrat did the same. The media environment in America is so tilted toward Republicans, so reflexively anti-(big D) Democrat, it's not even funny.

I think the fact that Marissa Mayer would voluntarily disclose this to a reporter is a pretty good demonstration of how deeply the culture of Silicon Valley has diverged from the rest of humanity

This is actually a condescending view of working-class people. I grew up in a working-class immigrant family and we ate at Red Lobster and The Cheesecake Factory for "fancy nights out." But even we understood that the White House should not look like the inside of a Red Lobster. Working-class people are not culturally illiterate just because their experiences are shaped by their limited means.

The cool part about this is how you omitted the fact not one fucking reporter asked at the time how he planned to do any of this stuff.
When voters headed to the polls nearly two years ago, Donald Trump promised them cheaper groceries, gas below $2 a gallon and a wave of new manufacturing jobs.
They elected him president — and got the opposite, a NBC News analysis finds. nbcnews.com/business/economy…
