THIS IS GOOD AI
- Only used for tedious work
- Doesn't affect creative integrity
- Uses completely localised data
- Not from a data center
- Localised programs aren't bad for the environment in the same scale
- Data was taken with consent to the artists

I don't care if you like Sally Rooney's books or not. This is about the UK effectively banning an author's work because she is vocal in her support for the Palestinian people. I don't care whether you personally like her. Nor should you. It's about censorship. It's unhinged.
Sally Rooney, author of ‘Normal People’ and ‘Conversations with Friends,’ says she is being forced to withdraw her books from being sold in the UK due to her support of the organization Palestine Action:
In a statement to The Guardian she said: “In July 2025, the direct-action protest group Palestine Action was proscribed as a terrorist organisation in the UK. The following month, I wrote an opinion piece expressing my intention to go on supporting Palestine Action, which is not a proscribed or otherwise prohibited group here in the Republic of Ireland.
As a result, the fulfilment of contracts to publish my work in the UK could now constitute a serious criminal offence. After a process of consultation and deliberation, and with my full agreement, my publisher Faber has therefore determined that it can no longer supply my work within the UK. I have made every effort to be honest with the public about my beliefs and intentions, and I am wholly prepared to accept the consequences.”

i’ll never fall for this propaganda because if you’re an employed adult who likes to read you know how difficult it is to find enough time to immerse yourself in the book so using any free time you get is sometimes the only option

here’s a reminder for everyone that in jan 2026, angelina jolie literally WENT to the rafah border and demanded IN PERSON that aid be let through for dying civilians. she went there because she wanted to see the truth for herself and try to help people w/ her boots on the ground.

I miss when you maybe only got a special edition of a book if it was out for 10+ years. Now it’s sprayed edges straight off the bat or bonus content and covers that are different depending on where you bought the book. The consumerism with publishing these days is tiring

my biggest hot take is that we need way less special editions and way more mass market paperbacks
