I genuinely think the late 90’s were peak America. Perfect mix of just enough old school but also just enough tech for maximum enjoyment. Sports, video games, TV sitcoms, music, pop-culture, politics, etc. No iPad kids or cell phone addicts. Wish I could go back and relive it 😂

Funny how elites who will never need a government pension (or have a gold plated parliamentary one) think it's "courageous" to make old people work longer and/or live in poverty. They're always willing to make a sacrifice -- as long as other people are on the altar.
Reminder that Canada under the Harper government *did* raise the OAS eligibility age. Had Trudeau not reversed this courageous reform, we would be spending $11 billion less on OAS by 2029, according to the PBO. When OAS was created in 1952, the benefit began at age 70. Life expectancy was 68, and the ratio of workers to retirees was 8 to 1. Eligibility is now at 65, with life expectancy at 81, and the ratio of workers to retirees down to 3 to 1. The current system represents a massive, unjust intergenerational transfer of wealth which is obviously unsustainable.

a roving band of waxwings has descended upon the yard this morning. Those dogberry trees on the lawn are gonna be limbed out in no time.

Canadian politicians never met an obvious con man they weren't eager to shovel money at.
Lmao @aidangomez how exactly is your AI company going to “bring down the cost of living” for the “average Canadian” and “cure various diseases and ailments”? You have to answer because you just got 1.6 billion in public funds

Hey @BestBuy, what an absolute disaster. I waited 2 hours before opening with ~30 people ahead of me. Then HUNDREDS emerged from their cars to “join friends” in line. 4 hours wasted. No Pokémon 30th Anniversary products. Just a booster bundle and a few packs. To top it off, I left my chair behind. Your customer service says I need to DRIVE AN HOUR BACK just to find out if it's there. Apparently nobody can call the store. Meanwhile, @GameStop uses preorders and organized systems instead of turning releases into a free-for-all. Give people numbers. Enforce the line. Respect customers' time. I'm curious: Was anyone else's Pokémon release this poorly managed, or did I just find the worst Best Buy experience imaginable?

Lift weights. Your brain will thank you for decades to come.
Resistance training is generally associated with increased strength and muscle mass. Less appreciated is that it positively influences virtually every major organ system in the body. In particular, its potential to enhance brain health remains one of its most underappreciated benefits. It's the closest thing we have to the fountain of youth. pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/4299…

Paying $7.99 to rent a 40-year-old movie on Amazon when I already pay for Prime is absurd. At this point, bring back Blockbuster. I’d rather wander the aisles for 30 minutes, read VHS boxes, and pick out snacks for the nostalgia.
