Today we stand with the survivors and families of the #March15 attacks. Three years ago, 51 of our most beautiful souls were ripped away cruelly. Those wounds are still fresh. The pain is still real. This is a part of New Zealand’s story. We must never let it be forgotten.

The Creative sector is the 7th most productive sector in terms of money in, dollars out. Arts and recreation are the 9th. This makes them more productive than hospitality, retail, & construction. All of which makes the arts great bang for taxpayers bucks.

A reminder that the arts and creative sector contributes about $10.8 billion to our economy in 2019, which is a little under 20% of the GDP that year. The performing arts were about $2.3 billion of that - or around 4% of our GDP.

Please don’t start bashing reporters for what they say in the stand ups. Many are trying to advocate for our interests. Its a high stress job. They are essential workers leaving their whānau daily to bring us the news. Your 1pm glimpse does not make you an expert on reporting.
