I get this take but most people are not financially responsible to save on their own. Also, once you make a certain amount it’s the easiest way to lower your tax bill for the year.

401k's are great for people who want to wait until they're senior citizens to have financial freedom. For people who'd prefer to have financial freedom before they are a senior citizen? I don't think maxing out a 401k makes sense. ....What am I missing?
