Praise God for @JohnPiper. His preaching kept me from drifting into theological liberalism. I remember listening to a sermon on suffering and thinking, “I want what that man has.” It awakened me from an edgy flirtation with liberalism driven more by a desire to be transgressive than by serious theological reflection. His preaching helped anchor my theology in the glory of Christ.
The reason I am doing what I am doing now is because of *this* sermon. It might be the most impactful 2 minutes of preaching I've ever seen — and it changed my entire life.

The Dave Portnoy Top 10 Computer Rankings for College Football Now Out 1. UCLA 2. Miami 3. Utah 4. Kentucky 5. Georgia 6. Indiana 7. Nd 8. Ohio State 9 Northwestern 10. BYU
That was the wackiest, wildest, most awesome day of college football of all time. Here is my new top 10. But 1 thing is clear. Anybody can beat anybody and the Big 12 needs multiple teams in the playoffs. 1. BYU 2. UCLA 3. Texas Tech 4. Miami 5. Utah 6. Ohio State 7. Ole Miss 8. Kentucky 9. Tennessee 10. Georgia

Kentucky's opponents since the Wildcats defeated them: Texas A&M: 2-3 (all three losses to Top 15 teams) S Carolina: 2-0 (vs #16 UF, #11 Tenn) LSU: 2-0 (vs #16 Miss St, Auburn) Oklahoma: 1-0 (vs Miss St) Many tried to downplay those wins. The reality: Kentucky is good.

Why are we even debating whether a man of good character with an American wife and American kids "belongs" in America? Of course he does. If the law doesn't welcome that, it's a bad law and it should be changed. what are we even doing here lol
He's a good man. He belongs in the USA.

Watch this, please. What a remarkable, courageous, and kind person. His admiration for the unarmed teacher who took on the shooter shines through. Please pray for him. He's carrying a lot -- there is such a cost to taking a life, even when it's necessary.
Bend, Oregon man who shot and killed a shooter at his daughters' school speaks out, praises female teacher for fighting the shooter, allowing him to have a clear shot. Kaylub Giamanco says he is haunted by the sound of children pleading for their lives. He also praised the teacher for grabbing the gunman's weapon, allowing him to take a shot at the shooter. "I want to recognize [the teacher]. She gave me the opportunity to make my shot without losing my life..." "I swung the door open, and I stepped in, and I fired, and they dropped to the ground... I looked down at the gunman, and he was scrambling for his weapon. And I looked at him, and I shot him 2 more times..."

Normal people decide elections. The parties, having become epistemically convinced they only need their bases to turnout, are re-learning that in a 50/50 nation, the non-partisan normie independents decide everything and do so on a per candidate basis.
What should we make of races like Michigan, Texas, and Georgia where there's a big split in the polls between Senate and gubernatorial races? Do these gaps tend to close by Election Day? Answers in today's Model Talk: natesilver.net/p/do-these-se…

I have repeatedly said that arguments over 2028 right now are pointless, but Vance promoters are kidding themselves if they think this won’t be a major problem for him. Even somehow putting aside that Tucker is a rather open lunatic conspiracy theorist, bigot, and revisionist defender of national socialism at this point, he is also a clear leader of the foreign-tied anti-American doomer effort to turn people against Republicans, the right, and America with explicitly dishonest arguments. The fact that Vance is rather obviously still consistently engaging with Tucker privately while refusing to honestly confront what he is doing publicly is, at best, a demonstration of awful judgement. At worst, it indicates that he shares some of the same views, which for many of us would be completely disqualifying. This will be a continuous anchor for him. The association will severely hurt him. And it should.
A big mistake by Vice President JD Vance to give Tucker Carlson this much attention. Carlson is increasingly irrelevant, and treating his opinions as if they carry enormous political weight only gives him the importance he desperately seeks. The Vice President should focus on defending the administration’s policies, not elevating Tucker Carlson.
