If the company is committed to remote work it means chances of F2F socialising is slim to none. Makes a stronger argument to actually go and meet people
At that amount overpayments barely makes a dent. S&S ISA unless your pension scheme is out of this world
Katie Piper stepped out of an internet cafe in north London and a man in a hoodie threw sulphuric acid in her face. It blinded her left eye. She swallowed some of it. Doctors had to remove what was left of the skin on her face. The man had never met her. He'd been sent by the man she'd been dating for two weeks.
March 31, 2008. Golders Green, London. Katie was 24, a model, building a career in TV. Life was just starting to happen.
She'd met Daniel Lynch online. He seemed charming. Two weeks later, in a hotel room in Bayswater, he raped her, beat her and stabbed her in the arms. He told her if she went to the police, he'd make sure no one would ever look at her again.
Then he sent her an email to lure her out. The attacker, Stefan Sylvestre, was waiting. CCTV caught all of it.
In the video below she tells it herself. The burning. Running into a shop screaming for water. Realizing her face was coming apart in her hands.
She spent 12 days in an induced coma. A surgeon named Mohammad Jawad tried something that had never been done on a full face. He removed the damaged skin and rebuilt it with an artificial skin substitute. For two years she wore a plastic pressure mask 23 hours a day.
Lynch got two life sentences, minimum 16 years. Sylvestre got life with a minimum of 6. He walked out on parole after about nine years.
In the UK, rape victims have lifelong anonymity. Katie gave hers up. She went on national TV with her real face, and a documentary called "My Beautiful Face" was watched by millions.
Today she's a TV presenter, a wife and a mother of two. She founded a charity for burn survivors. In 2025, after 17 years of fighting for her eye, she started the process of getting an artificial one.
How do you show your face to the world after someone tried to take it from you?

There are things “in the grey” when it comes to corporate affairs. You can get laid off from an org.restructure that ur contract doesn’t protect you against for example. Strictly doing your job is great but building relationships can protect you & get u opportunities

And this is why y'all rarely get promoted into leadership roles, coz you lack the social skills a team leader requires for workers with different personalities or interests to theirs, which is essential for teamwork. You make great lackeys though, coz you carry the workload well.
Been telling my boy just cus you moved to MENA, don't benchmark success against where you could be in the UK. Gotta benchmark success against your peers in the same region if not you get left behind
They won't get the talent in simple. Plus your theory applies to more the SMEs than anything. You won't expect the Big 4 for example to post stupid salaries cus their comps are easy to find plus reputation risk
This is more realistic than them 5-10k a month finance posts
💷 MY £1,900 PAYDAY BREAKDOWN
I’m 41, a girl dad and trying to get our family finances as organised as possible.
Here’s where my October payday goes:
🏡 £530 – Joint Monzo account for mortgage, council tax and household bills.
💰 £295 – Zopa for Christmas savings, insurance, Sky and credit cards.
📈 £100 – Stocks & Shares ISA. This month I bought Rolls-Royce shares.
🏦 £70 – SIPP for long-term retirement investing.
🛒 £250 – Joint Starling account for food, petrol and family spending.
🏏 £150 – Monzo Flex to cover planned summer fun, including The Ashes.
📋 £105 – Other bills and contributions towards my wife’s bills.
🍻 £200 – My guilt-free fun money for haircuts, football and anything else.
💳 £200 – Split into £50 weekly payments to help control my spending.
Every pound has a job.
It’s not about earning a fortune, it’s about having a plan for what you earn.
How do you organise your payday? 👇
Yh do both if feasible. For an extremely conservative person, target close to the 10% overpayment avoiding ERC and close off the £4k stocks & shares LISA with govt bonuses towards retirement

🇮🇱🇵🇸 It must be great being an Israeli settler when you can just walk into a Palestinian's home and declare it your own
But yeah, the reason people have turned against Israel is due to Russian bots, isn't it Bibi?
