This year alone, I was interviewed at the World Bank, UNICEF, and WMO and in every single interview, the conversation came back to the story in my cover letter. One interviewer at UNICEF told me: “I connected deeply with your story. That is exactly the kind of people we are looking for at UNICEF — people with lived experience.” Another said: “I’m so sorry to hear you missed school due to flooding. Tell me more about the scale of that impact.” Tell stories in your cover letter

I applied for the ASHRAE YEA Leadership Weekend International scholarship, not sure I'd win but full of hope. Then the email came: "My God, I'm going to Cairo!" 6 of us from Nigeria won. 🇳🇬 If you don't apply, you won't know it's possible. So apply! #ASHRAE #YEA

“MY ADVICE TO ANYONE WHO WANTS TO BE A BEST GRADUATING STUDENT (BGS)” Based off numerous questions and direct messages I’ve been receiving. I had this interview with a very nice lady and she asked me this and just like that, one thought led to another… but I was able to collect it all together. The beginning of your end is believing you can do it alone. You must hold onto God and trust him. He will finish everything he started. Reading is not enough for excellence. There should be more emphasis placed on “how to read” than “number of times you read.” You need to understand the systems around you and adapt. You must grow with the process or your peers will grow and leave you behind. Evaluate and see if you’re proud of what you’re becoming. If you’re not, turn back and pick up. It’s never too late. Never ever take your 100 level for granted. It’s the most important level ever. The foundation of a house is enough to tell whether it will stand or sink. At 100 level, many are ignorant. If you’re wise then, you’ll work while they sleep and when they wake, they can’t meet up. You cannot be lazy and no one is. Build yourself to work. To read. To learn. And enjoy every bit of it. Do what works for you. If you prefer reading during the day, read during the day. If not, night then. It’s about you, not the trend. You don’t have to jump with everyone to night class or tutorials. Sometimes, the greatest things are learned alone, within your locked space. Be so subtle, so unexpected, so unpredictable… Be weird. No one should tell what you’re about to do next. Of all, be equally capable of being the erudite scholar and playing the clueless dimwit. Both sides of you will be equally needed wherever you go… 6/7

I’m begging y’all, don’t ever upload your raw data to any AI platform. You risk losing the originality of your work, and it might become unpublishable. A word is enough for the wise.

When filling scholarship forms do not neglect the supplementary documents field. Do well to upload any documents you may have. It could even be an award letter from your previous scholarships or extra recommendation letters. 🫡

reading alone doesn't suffice it, though it's the most crucial part. one of the best way to attain an optimal grade is strategy, and that's one common thing between first class students/grad.

The stress I went through searching for a PPA? The questions, interviews, connections? Perhaps I should share my interview experiences too. Anyways, make way for Tosin Chukwunonso. Success will never be optional.

Do not be in a hurry to submit your applications. Make sure someone reads or reviews your essays. You can also read it aloud yourself to hear how it sounds. Do not depend on AI. Good luck!

I think I should organize X space where we invite BGS, First-class graduates and other high achievers, how they did it. Their study routine, study hack, and what worked for them. This would be an eye-opener for younger folks and motivate other students to take their education seriously. Remember, information is power, and sharing is caring.🤍

Please, I have a question. You know in football, if Man City and Arsenal finish the Premier League season with 99 points each, goal difference will determine who wins the trophy. Now, let’s bring it to academics. If two or more students graduate with a perfect 5.0 CGPA, how does the university decide who becomes the Best Graduating Student? Will they all be awarded BGS, or is there an academic equivalent of goal difference?

If you’re a student and you’re not using AI as a study assistant, I will judge you. You shouldn’t be left behind when there are tools that can make learning easier. Use AI to simplify complex topics, explain difficult concepts, create practice questions, and test your knowledge. AI is here to stay. USE IT! !!!!!!!!!!

If I graduated from university today, these are things I would do immediately. 👇 1. Collect my academic transcript. 2.Reach out to my professors. 3. Start applying for scholarships. 4. Take relevant online courses. 5. Build my CV and LinkedIn profile. 6. Start building my network.

This video is basically saying; “No matter how difficult an exam is, even if people are getting grades like D or F, you can still excel if you practise active recall. This method is useful at every level of education. So, how do you practise active recall? When you finish reading a topic, close your book. Get a marker board or an exercise book, whichever is available, and try to write down everything you can remember from what you’ve read. Another way is by teaching. Teach yourself or teach other people what you’ve learned. This helps you identify what you understand and what you need to revisit. You can also go back to your book, check what you’ve missed, study those areas, and practise active recall again. You can use different marker colours to organise your points and make the process more engaging.”
