Exactly, Sherry. And this was my biggest takeaway from listening to the asset managers yesterday. We keep talking about 24/7 tokenization, but 24/7 tradability, 24/7 liquidity, and 24/7 redemption are 3 very different things. 💯 HK's SFC opening secondary trading for tokenized MMFs is a significant step. But selling a fund token to another buyer isn't the same as redeeming directly with the fund at NAV and actually receiving USD in your bank account. From the asset manager's side, you're still dealing with underlying liquidity, NAV calculations, settlement windows, banking cutoffs, credit facilities, and the balance sheet of whoever is providing liquidity outside market hours. My hot take is that we've made the asset programmable faster than we've made the financial infrastructure behind it interoperable. And I think this is where TradFi and Web3 convergence gets really interesting. The blockchain can settle a transaction at 2 AM, but who is providing the dollars, taking the liquidity risk, and reconciling that obligation across institutions and jurisdictions? To me, the next frontier isn't just tokenizing more assets. It's solving the coordination between the asset, the cash leg, and the institutions responsible for both.
That redemption question is the real stress test. Shares can move on-chain 24/7, but NAV, bank cut-offs and dealing calendars still sit off-chain. HK SFC secondary-trading pilots for tokenised MMFs matter: trading hours without same-hour cash exit is a different product.

This is a really good point, and something I've been observing between HK and Singapore. 🇭🇰🇸🇬 From conversations with my banker friends, HK tends to be more generous when it comes to capital and risk appetite. (sorry sg vcs haha) I've spent quite some time immersed in Singapore's finance and fintech ecosystem, including engagements with GFTN and MAS, and now getting to see HK's ecosystem up close, I think both markets have very different approaches. My observation is that HK is moving aggressively on tokenization, capital markets, and bringing traditional financial products onchain. Singapore, on the other hand, seems more focused on stablecoins, regulatory frameworks, and building the institutional rails for TradFi and Web3 convergence. One is pushing product and market adoption, while the other is building the regulatory and settlement infrastructure around it. Of course, there's plenty of overlap. And I agree with your broader point. Greater regulatory clarity in the US could create a very interesting opening for licensed players in Asia, particularly those positioned to bridge institutional capital and digital asset markets. I believe that HK and SG aren't necessarily competing to build the same financial hub. They're developing different pieces of what could become a much more interconnected financial system. And that's what makes Asia particularly interesting to watch right now! 🌐
The US is heading to a bifurcated realty of Genius Act granting VIP channel access to major wall Street banks and asset managers, and lack of Clarity Act that grants the same access to defi/crypto shops, creating a golden opportunity 4 licensed stablecoins issuers in HK Singapore

I agree! And I think it's a really interesting time to be building in financial infrastructure. Banks and regulators are becoming more open to collaborating with blockchain builders. Of course, the bureaucracy is still very much there haha, but we're finally seeing serious conversations about how blockchain can improve settlement, liquidity, and interoperability rather than just tokenizing assets for the sake of it. I also think Hong Kong could be a great launchpad for this next wave, as it has historically been for international finance. #HSBC itself originated here. 🇭🇰 HK has always been an important bridge between East and West, connecting capital, institutions, and markets. And now we're seeing that same role evolve in digital finance. Really interesting times to be building!
Right, and the 2 AM answer is usually someone else's balance sheet: a market maker or stablecoin swap that buys the token at a small discount and waits for the next dealing day. Worth asking who that is, how much they'll absorb, and what the haircut looks like under stress.

I think this is where the conversation gets interesting from a builder's perspective. I was also observing what other founders were building during the hackathon, and there's clearly a lot of innovation happening around tokenization, settlement, and moving assets onchain. But my slightly controversial take is that we're getting really good at tokenizing financial products before solving the actual financial plumbing behind them. Especially in Asia, where we're operating across US banking hours, multiple currencies, and different regulatory jurisdictions. Someone still needs to provide the dollars, manage the liquidity mismatch, and reconcile the obligations between institutions. And someone is ultimately taking that balance-sheet risk. I think builders sometimes underestimate how much of finance happens offchain, outside the smart contract. It's why I believe the next big infrastructure opportunity isn't just making assets move faster. It's making the institutions behind those assets capable of moving at the same speed. That's what we are trying to build @KnightIntelco That's the harder problem, and probably the more interesting one to build for.
That’s the right test. For investors in Asia, US settlement windows fall overnight, so tokenization only really helps once the cash leg settles on the same schedule.

Haha, I wouldn't necessarily call it just a wrapper, although I see why one could put it that way! From what I've been observing here in HK, tokenization is already opening up interesting possibilities for fund distribution, secondary-market liquidity, and access to traditional financial products. But 24/7 secondary trading and 24/7 redemption at NAV are two very different things. And here's something interesting. I was actually speaking with the BIS team at their booth during #HongKong FinTech Week. They brought up the G20 TechSprint held with the South African Reserve Bank, which focused on interoperable digital identity, cross-border credit data portability, and trust in financial systems. Very close to what we've been cooking at @KnightIntelco around machine-readable financial intelligence and interoperability across jurisdictions. Central banks are looking at interoperability and trust. Asset managers are looking at liquidity and settlement. Builders are looking at tokenization and programmable assets. But ultimately, all these systems need to understand and communicate with one another. 💯
This is the right question. A token can move at 2am; redemption still needs banks, credit lines and reserves on the same clock. In HK that gap is what decides whether a tokenised MMF is a product or just a wrapper.

If you're still holding $KNIGHT, you're an apex predator. 💯 We're building category-defining technology in a market that's barely beginning to take shape. Even institutions like the BIS are still exploring the frontier of machine-readable financial infrastructure and interoperability with central banks. That's how early this space is. The category itself is still being defined. So to everyone who's stayed with the Cavalry through the uncertainty, you've got some serious conviction. And to those who left and found their way back, Welcome Back! We're not entering an established category. We're helping define one. Long live the Cavalry. 🐎

$KNIGHT vision! 🥇
Knight, simplified. We believe defining Knight as a KYC solution is reductionist. KYC is becoming a feature within a much broader financial intelligence and compliance orchestration tech. Knight is building toward that future: transforming fragmented, static financial identities into portable, explainable trust intelligence that can move across jurisdictions, institutions, and platforms. In this video, our founder explains Knight's vision and the Web2 infrastructure providers and technology partners helping bring it to life. Trust should not reset at every border. Neither should financial identity. knightintel.co/

@KnightIntelco - robinhood:0xd79eb5d4edf7bd843eef5109f1a1ff5c96b17948 - $370K 🟢 Knight is working on Knight V2 on Robinhood Chain mainnet, a modular KYC and KYB orchestration layer with API-first onboarding, reusable identity attestations and auditable verification workflows, built after finding that verifying a startup's first 50 to 500 users carries enterprise-level cost and integration work. teapawt.net/BennyInHerBag/status/2… 🧵 40/90
We're building @KnightIntelco V2 on @RobinhoodCrypto's Robinhood Chain mainnet to address this infrastructure gap. One of the clearest signals we took from conversations at @arbitrum @ArbitrumDevs Founder House: onchain startups are moving faster than the compliance infrastructure built to support them. A founder can ship an MVP in 48 hours. But verifying their first 50–500 users can introduce enterprise-level costs, integration friction, and operational complexity before they've even found product-market fit. We're seeing the same gap across blockchain ecosystems. Hackathons produce startups. Accelerators fund them. Foundations distribute grants. But before capital moves, someone still needs to verify the founder, establish the legal entity, and perform KYC/KYB checks. Our direction: modular KYC/KYB orchestration, API-first onboarding, reusable identity attestations, and auditable verification workflows that startups and ecosystem operators can integrate without rebuilding compliance from scratch. The goal isn't to lower verification standards. It's to lower the cost and complexity of meeting them. Blockchains have made it easier to launch companies. Now we need to make it easier for those companies to become institution-ready. From the first 50 users to the first institutional partnership. That's the infrastructure we're building. Build fast. Verify properly. Scale across borders.

You are not bullish enough on tokenization. Sitting right in front of me are representatives from three of the world's largest multinational banking institutions: @UBS , @HSBC , and @StanChart Chartered. And the topic? TOKENIZE EVERYTHING. We're no longer just talking about putting assets onchain. We're talking about the infrastructure behind global capital markets: liquidity, settlement, custody, ownership, and interoperability. When institutions of this scale are discussing tokenization, this isn't just a crypto narrative anymore. It's a conversation about the next architecture of global finance. And we're still early. @KnightIntelco is building for a cross-border world where trust travels, and compliance moves as fast as money and assets. The future of finance is interoperable. So should trust be. 💯
You're not bullish enough on tokenization. Financial assets are moving on-chain. Institutions are investing in interoperability, digital identity, and the infrastructure required to support them. But tokenizing assets is only half the equation. It needs compliance and verification. $Knight ♞ Building at the intersection of TradFi, Web3, and institutional trust. 💯

You can tokenize a money market fund. But can you actually redeem your dollars at 2 AM on a Sunday? Probably one of the most interesting conversations I've attended today, with speakers from @Fidelity International, @BlackRock , @FranklnTempletn, @injective , Tokenization Foundation, and The JDB Report. The discussion was around 24/7 primary markets and the convergence of TradFi and onchain finance. From an asset manager's perspective, liquidity and redemption aren't simply smart contract problems. You're dealing with fund operations, banking relationships, credit lines, underlying reserves, settlement infrastructure, and ledgers that don't necessarily operate on the same clock. A token can move 24/7. The financial institutions supporting its redemption may not. This becomes particularly interesting in Asia. Singapore and Hong Kong have sophisticated, highly regulated financial markets, and there's growing interest in tokenized money market funds and dollar-denominated products. But there's still a disconnect between offering a tokenized fund around the clock and ensuring investors can actually receive USD when they need it. The US is also moving forward with its stablecoin regulatory framework through the GENIUS Act, adding another dimension to how institutions think about reserves, liquidity, and settlement. I think this is where the conversation gets much more interesting. We've spent years discussing how to bring financial assets onchain. Now comes the harder question: how do we make the entire financial infrastructure behind those assets operate with the same availability? Tokenization doesn't eliminate the underlying financial obligations. It makes the gaps between systems much more visible. And I love hearing these discussions directly from asset managers and institutions who actually have to make the infrastructure work. The future of finance isn't just about putting assets on a ledger. It's about making the asset, the money, and the TRUST institutions behind both move together.

We're looking at cross-border AML from both the TradFi and Web3 sides, because these two systems still don't speak to each other very well. The approach is to integrate with established screening providers, apply jurisdiction-specific AML requirements, and bring identity, transaction history, and on-chain activity into one intelligence report. The interesting part for us isn't just collecting the data. Banks already have plenty of that. It's making the information machine-readable, traceable, and useful for compliance decisions across different jurisdictions. Of course, each institution will still have its own risk appetite and regulatory obligations. @KnightIntelco's role is to help them connect the dots without starting from scratch every time someone crosses a border.
How will you handle cross‑border AML checks? ️

It's really a case-to-case basis. Our clients range from neobanks and lending platforms to digital asset companies, and each has its own compliance checklist, risk appetite, and regulatory requirements. What we're doing at @KnightIntelco is aggregating Web2 and Web3 financial data alongside KYC/KYB into one intelligence layer. We're not trying to give everyone the same checklist. We're making it easier for institutions to connect the dots and interpret the information based on what they actually need to assess.
compliance gap is the part most onchain tools skip. curious what KnightIntelco checks first
