We plugged Beam into @opencode, asked it to look at @UnslothAI, and create a fine-tuning notebook for the latest and smallest Gemma-4 model on a Text2SQL task – an out of distribution domain for Beam.
The model successfully researches the model cards, Unsloth documentation, and available READMEs, and implements the fine-tuning logic and surrounding machinery. As a result, Beam is able to successfully finetune Gemma, increasing Gemma’s accuracy on its heldout test set by 66.5%.

🇺🇸 As a direct result of President Trump’s U.S.-Japan trade deal, Japan will provide up to $21 BILLION to build two new semiconductor factories in upstate New York.
🏭 GlobalFoundries will operate the two factories, which will create tens of thousands of high-paying American jobs across manufacturing, construction, and the broader semiconductor industry.
Commerce is also redirecting up to $955 million in existing CHIPS funding to bring critical chip production back to America and reduce our reliance on foreign manufacturers.
This is President Trump’s trade agenda in action.
Models are products, and we’ve officially entered the paid marketing era for model distribution
five guys at an American startup are trying to pull off what DeepSeek did to Silicon Valley
None of them have an AI background, a PhD, or worked at OpenAI.
that’s what happens when investors realize American AI labs are spending way too much money… and something like that is about to happen again
instead of building from scratch, they took an existing Chinese model and spent $300k training it to handle white collar work
and they’re releasing the weights so companies can run it on their own servers instead of paying a provider every time they use it
ironically, China’s headstart in cheap models is giving tiny American startups a way to compete with companies worth hundreds of billions

When the open-source AI platform Hugging Face was hit by a cyberattack this July, it quickly became clear this was no ordinary breach because the hackers weren’t human: they were autonomous agents created by OpenAI researchers.
Instadocs: AI Gone Wild reconstructs the breach as it’s never been seen before. Premieres October 12.
