What is gold-plated healthcare
It’s also worth noting that people don’t come to the United States for healthcare. They’re better taken care of in their own countries.
does anyone know what's happening with the @CarnivalCruise Conquest. Their Hurricane Milton page does not list this ship, and my family on board say the staff looked shocked when they mentioned the hurricane to them?

"[N]o country in this world establishes its ability to exist through rights. Countries establish their ability to exist through force -- as America did. Israel does exist. It's a fact. The question of its right is not a question that I would be face with with any other country." - Ta-Nehisi Coates.
Perfect response to unhinged zionist hand wringing from @tonydokoupil.
Ta-Nehisi Coates’ new book, “The Message,” is a trio of interconnected essays that examine how the stories people tell — or avoid telling — can shape and even distort reality: “I am most concerned always with those that don’t have a voice.” cbsn.ws/4gJxe2g

Each dot on the map is a prison in FL. Look how polka-dotted with prisons the panhandle is. None of them are evacuated. Most of them are at severe storm risk tonight.

Having the police give out little cards for family and friends to break the law feels like an fake example of corruption you'd teach schoolchildren because it's so egregious it can't possibly be real, and yet.
A police officer in NYC faced demotion and retaliation from higher-ranking cops because he was ticketing drivers that have "courtesy cards" issued by police unions that normally let drivers get away with violations, and now, taxpayers have to pay him a $175k settlement.

Again, I’m gonna keep pointing this out. More and more I grow resentful of crime data (eg theft stats broken down by race) because stuff like this isn’t included. Wage theft isn’t included. Crime committed by corporations does greater harm but it’s always sanitized.

New video has emerged of NYPD cops brutally beating a man working at a homeless shelter.
The cops didn’t have a warrant to enter the facility, and the workers’ boss told him not to let them in.
So they attacked him. Trigger warning for the video.

The NYPD spent $150 Million *extra* last year to catch people who weren't able to afford to pay the subway fare. They owed just $104,000.
$150 million could buy free fares (at going rate) for 95,000 poor New Yorkers per year.
Instead four people shot, including an officer.

If you are the unarmed black man who the police drew guns on while you were sitting in your parked car on U St. in Washington, DC, I recorded the whole thing if you need the video. Please RT so he can find this and see it. He didn’t deserve that at all.
